Warehouse Specialist Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a warehouse specialist in Texas?
Most warehouse specialist roles in Texas require a high school diploma or GED, and employers typically provide on-the-job training for their specific systems and processes. Texas does not issue a state license for general warehouse work, but earning an OSHA 10 certification and a forklift operator certification through an accredited provider strengthens your candidacy significantly. Larger Texas distribution centers often prefer candidates who have completed a logistics or supply chain certificate program through a community college such as San Jacinto College or Tarrant County College.
How much do warehouse specialists make in Texas?
Warehouse specialists in Texas earn a median of about $36,840 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $28,870 for the lowest 10% to over $47,180 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire warehouse specialists in Texas?
Employers hiring warehouse specialists in Texas right now include Asbury Automotive, Celanese, and Schneider Electric, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's dense network of distribution corridors along I-35 and the Houston Ship Channel means large logistics operators and major retailers maintain year-round warehouse staffing needs across the state.
Which Texas cities have the most warehouse specialist jobs?
Irving, El Paso, and La Porte have the most warehouse specialist openings in Texas. Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston dominate due to their massive logistics infrastructure, intermodal freight hubs, and concentration of e-commerce and retail distribution centers, while San Antonio's growing manufacturing base and position along the NAFTA trade corridor drive steady warehouse hiring there as well.
Are there remote warehouse specialist jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they are rare. Warehouse specialist work is fundamentally hands-on and tied to a physical facility, so most roles require daily on-site presence. About 0% of warehouse specialist openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those exceptions tend to involve inventory coordination, vendor communication, or WMS data management tasks that can be handled off-site.
How can I get hired as a warehouse specialist in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to distribution center associate or fulfillment associate roles at large Texas operators, which regularly hire candidates without prior experience and train them on their own systems. H-E-B, Amazon, and Walmart all run structured onboarding programs at their Texas facilities that bring in entry-level workers from general labor and retail stocking backgrounds. Completing an OSHA 10 course before applying and listing any experience with inventory counting, stock replenishment, or shipping and receiving gives your application a concrete edge.
Where can I find and apply to warehouse specialist jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to warehouse specialist jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings. Find the roles that fit your experience and location, then apply directly through the listings.
