Operations Lead Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a operations lead in Texas?
Most operations lead roles in Texas do not require a state-issued license, but employers consistently look for a combination of a bachelor's degree in business or operations management and direct supervisory experience. Many candidates move into the role from frontline positions such as shift supervisor, team lead, or warehouse associate. Earning a Lean Six Sigma or Project Management Professional credential strengthens candidacy with Texas's large logistics and manufacturing employers.
How much do operations leads make in Texas?
Operations leads in Texas earn a median of about $103,230 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $46,190 for the lowest 10% to over $264,620 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire operations leads in Texas?
Employers hiring operations leads in Texas right now include Celestica, Kroger, and HDR, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's scale in energy, retail distribution, and healthcare means large multi-site operations are especially common, giving operations leads consistent opportunities to manage diverse teams and facilities.
Which Texas cities have the most operations lead jobs?
Austin, Houston, and Dallas have the most operations lead openings in Texas. Houston's port and energy sector, Dallas-Fort Worth's logistics and corporate headquarters density, and Austin's technology and consumer goods growth are the primary drivers behind where these roles cluster, with San Antonio and El Paso contributing through manufacturing and distribution activity along the I-35 and I-10 corridors.
Are there remote operations lead jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based fields, since operations leads typically oversee physical teams, facilities, or workflows on site. About 10% of operations lead openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with most remote flexibility concentrated in corporate or regional operations roles rather than warehouse or production floor positions.
How can I get hired as a operations lead in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving up from a frontline role such as warehouse associate, shift supervisor, or retail team lead at a large Texas employer like H-E-B, Amazon, or a regional distribution center. Many Texas employers in logistics and manufacturing run internal leadership development programs that promote high performers without prior management titles. Completing a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or earning a business-related associate degree from a Texas community college strengthens your application for junior operations lead openings.
