Production Scheduler Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a production scheduler in Texas?
The most direct path is a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, or industrial engineering, followed by an entry-level role in production control or materials coordination. Texas requires no state-issued license for production schedulers, but earning the APICS CPIM certification demonstrates planning competency and is widely recognized by Texas manufacturers. Employers in Houston's energy corridor, the Dallas-Fort Worth aerospace cluster, and San Antonio's defense sector typically prioritize both the credential and hands-on ERP experience.
Which companies hire production schedulers in Texas?
Companies currently hiring production schedulers in Texas include Panelmatic, Safran, and STANDEX, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Texas's concentration of defense contractors, petrochemical plants, and advanced manufacturers means openings appear across a wide range of industries and facility sizes throughout the state.
Which Texas cities have the most production scheduler jobs?
Houston, Conroe, and Dallas account for the largest share of production scheduler openings in Texas. Houston leads because of its dense petrochemical and energy manufacturing base, Dallas-Fort Worth draws volume from aerospace and electronics firms headquartered in the metroplex, and San Antonio supports steady demand through its established defense and military logistics sector.
Are there remote production scheduler jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're rare. Production scheduling typically requires close coordination with plant floor operations, which limits full-remote arrangements. About 0% of production scheduler openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to involve higher-level capacity planning or supply chain oversight roles that don't require a daily on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a production scheduler in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a production control coordinator or materials planner role, which Texas manufacturers in Houston and the Dallas-Fort Worth area regularly post as junior positions. Large employers such as Raytheon and Lockheed Martin run rotational supply chain programs for recent graduates. Building proficiency in SAP or Oracle through coursework or a certification, combined with an APICS student membership, gives candidates a measurable edge when applying to these roles.
Where can I find and apply to production scheduler jobs in Texas?
