Production Scheduler Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a production scheduler in Texas?
Most Texas employers require a bachelor's degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, or a related field, though candidates with associate degrees and direct manufacturing floor experience do get hired. There is no state-issued license for this role in Texas, but earning the APICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management credential significantly strengthens your candidacy. Many Texas manufacturers, particularly in aerospace and refining, treat APICS certification as a practical hiring standard.
How much do production schedulers make in Texas?
Production schedulers in Texas earn a median of about $55,850 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $35,470 for the lowest 10% to over $86,200 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire production schedulers in Texas?
Employers hiring production schedulers in Texas right now include FormFactor, Panelmatic, and Panelmatic, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of aerospace, defense, and energy manufacturers means many of these employers maintain recurring scheduler openings tied to long-cycle production programs.
Which Texas cities have the most production scheduler jobs?
Farmers Branch, Houston, and Conroe have the most production scheduler openings in Texas. Houston's refining and petrochemical complex drives consistent demand there, Dallas-Fort Worth's dense cluster of aerospace, electronics, and consumer goods manufacturers anchors that market, and San Antonio's growing defense and advanced manufacturing base, anchored by major military contractors and Boeing MRO operations, accounts for strong activity in that corridor.
Are there remote production scheduler jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're rare. Production scheduling is closely tied to the physical plant floor, equipment availability, and real-time coordination with production supervisors, which limits full remote arrangements. About 0% of production scheduler openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those tend to involve planning and reporting functions rather than day-to-day floor-level scheduling.
How can I get hired as a production scheduler in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a production associate, warehouse coordinator, or inventory control role within a Texas manufacturer, where you already understand facility workflow. Large Texas operations like those run by Raytheon, Celanese, and Oshkosh Defense regularly post junior planner or scheduling assistant roles that require no prior scheduling title. Earning the APICS CPIM certification before applying gives candidates without a formal supply chain degree a concrete edge in competitive Texas markets.
Where can I find and apply to production scheduler jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to production scheduler jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across manufacturing, aerospace, energy, and logistics sectors. Find roles that fit your experience and apply directly.
