Quality Specialist Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality specialist in Texas?
Most quality specialist roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing technology, or a related field, though some employers accept an associate degree paired with relevant work experience. Texas does not issue a state license for quality specialists, but earning an American Society for Quality certification, such as the CQE or CQA, is the most recognized credential in the Texas market and frequently listed as a hiring preference by aerospace, medical device, and energy employers across the state.
How much do quality specialists make in Texas?
Quality specialists in Texas earn a median of about $46,210 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $32,200 for the lowest 10% to over $78,560 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire quality specialists in Texas?
Employers hiring quality specialists in Texas right now include Houston Methodist, LTIMindtree, and Kiewit Corporation, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of aerospace, oil and gas, medical device, and food processing companies means quality specialists with industry-specific standards experience are particularly sought after across the state.
Which Texas cities have the most quality specialist jobs?
Houston, Austin, and Irving have the most quality specialist openings in Texas. Houston's dominance in energy and petrochemical manufacturing drives consistent demand, Dallas-Fort Worth attracts aerospace and defense contractors like Raytheon and L3Harris, and San Antonio's growing advanced manufacturing base, anchored by Toyota and a cluster of defense contractors at Joint Base San Antonio, keeps a steady pipeline of quality roles in the region.
Are there remote quality specialist jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're rare. Quality specialist work is largely hands-on, involving physical inspections, audits at supplier sites, and production floor oversight that can't be done remotely. About 11% of quality specialist openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those tend to be documentation-heavy roles like supplier quality auditing, quality systems management, or regulatory compliance coordination rather than front-line inspection positions.
How can I get hired as a quality specialist in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a quality inspector or quality technician role and building toward a specialist title from there. Large Texas manufacturers, including automotive suppliers near San Antonio and aerospace contractors in the DFW area, regularly hire quality inspectors who can train up. Pursuing an ASQ Certified Quality Process Analyst credential while working gives you a concrete differentiator. Lateral moves from production supervisors, supply chain coordinators, or lab technicians are common, especially at food and beverage manufacturers across Central and East Texas who often promote from within.
Where can I find and apply to quality specialist jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to quality specialist jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings. Find roles that fit your experience and industry and apply directly through the listings.
