What You'll Do
Lead Student Accounts and Service
- Lead student collections outreach and follow-up, dedicating 60% of your time to maintaining current receivables and payment plans.
- Accurately process student account credits, charges, adjustments, and exceptions; provide helpful service on accounts, transcripts, diplomas, and other requests.
- Partner with Financial Aid on cancellations, refunds, and aid adjustments.
Manage Financial Operations and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies for collections, refunds, overages, and safeguarding funds.
- Process and reconcile accounts payable, invoices, aging reports, and campus expenditures accurately and on time.
- Manage textbook and supply inventory, including physical counts and variance resolution.
- Apply accounting standards and policies in collaboration with the Campus Support Center; support campus facility operations as needed.
Lead and Develop the Team
- Train, coach, and manage a professional, motivated team; support performance and career development and lead the team toward established results and metrics.
- Recognize and reward employee contributions and achievements; perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in a business office environment.
Preferred Background
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
At least three years of online higher education experience in a business office setting.
Broad knowledge of accounts receivable, collections, inventory management, financial reporting, or proprietary education.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of and ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles and procedures (GAAP); ability to analyze accounts and financial data and recommend solutions.
Professional communication, active listening, constructive conflict resolution, negotiation, and relationship-building skills across departments.
Intermediate presentation and training facilitation skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, educational and administrative technology, and enterprise software such as SharePoint.
Ability to apply relevant business, education, and healthcare information; evaluate complex problems, use sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and meet simultaneous deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
