Many structural heart patients suffer from heart failure with limited options. Our Implantable Heart Failure Management (IHFM) business's AI, Product and Platforms organization is at the forefront of addressing these unmet patient needs through pioneering technology that enables early, targeted therapeutic intervention. Our innovative solutions are not just transforming patient care but also creating a unique and exciting environment for our team members. It is our driving force to help patients live longer and healthier lives. Join us and be part of our inspiring journey.
As Senior Manager, Business Systems, you own the end-to-end delivery of the business systems that power IHFM's commercial, clinical operations, and back-office functions as a working leader. This is a hands-on role: you personally lead requirements definition, system configuration, and validation alongside a small team of application developers, administrators, and analysts while owning prioritization, delivery, and outcomes across a portfolio of concurrent initiatives. You are the single point of accountability for translating business needs into scalable, compliant system solutions across the Salesforce ecosystem, enterprise integrations, and the processes that connect them. Business Systems operates as a dedicated team parallel to the IHFM product development teams; its focus is the commercial and enterprise systems that run the business, not product or device software.
Based in Irvine, CA, you'll join a high-impact medtech innovation hub in the heart of Orange County, collaborating in person with cross-functional teams to shape patient-focused technology.
How you'll make an impact
Hands-on delivery and execution (primary focus)
- Personally lead initiatives from requirements through configuration, testing, deployment, and post-launch stabilization. You build and validate, you don't just oversee
- Configure, test, and validate Salesforce workflows, automation, reporting, and integrations directly
- Translate ambiguous or high-level business problems into working technical solutions, consulting enterprise and domain architects as needed
- Own prioritization and backlog management across concurrent initiatives, with disciplined Agile execution: sprint planning, backlog grooming, dependency management, and milestone tracking
- Perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis; drive process reengineering and optimization end to end
Salesforce and enterprise systems
- Lead delivery of Salesforce enhancements (Sales Cloud and Service Cloud): configuration, automation, reporting, and user workflows
- Own execution of system integrations (ERP, digital health platforms, third-party tools), ensuring reliable, scalable data flows aligned to enterprise architecture standards
- Ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose, scalable, and maintainable
Cross-functional partnership
- Partner with Sales, Clinical Operations, Marketing, and IT to translate business needs into actionable delivery plans, serving as the central point of accountability for business systems initiatives across IHFM
- Act as liaison between business process owners and technical teams; enable super-users through training and knowledge transfer.
- Facilitate alignment across business and technical stakeholders to accelerate decisions and execution
Governance, quality, and compliance
- Drive data quality, reporting, and CRM adoption to support pipeline visibility and commercial effectiveness
- Ensure solutions meet computer system validation (CSV), 21 CFR Part 11, and GxP requirements appropriate to each system's use
- Establish and maintain delivery metrics and KPIs that give transparency into project performance
Team and vendor leadership
- Lead, develop, and mentor a small cross-functional team of application developers, Salesforce administrators, and analysts, working alongside them, not above them
- Manage external vendors and implementation partners to on-time, high-quality delivery
- Foster a culture of accountability, execution excellence, and continuous improvement
What you'll need (Required):
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
- A minimum of 10 years in business systems delivery, enterprise applications, or business systems analysis, including hands-on configuration and delivery
- A minimum of 3 years leading or mentoring delivery teams while remaining personally involved in build and configuration work
- Demonstrated success delivering large-scale system implementations or enhancements end to end
- Strong hands-on Salesforce experience (Sales Cloud and Service Cloud): configuration, automation, and reporting
- Proven ability to run multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities
- Direct experience with system integrations and data flows across enterprise systems
- Strong command of Agile delivery methodologies and tools
- Ability to travel up to 10%
What else we look for (Preferred):
- Previous people leadership experience
- Experience in MedTech, Life Sciences, or other regulated industries
- Familiarity with digital health platforms and connected device ecosystems
- Working knowledge of computer system validation (CSV), 21 CFR Part 11, FDA, or GxP requirements
- Experience supporting commercial field organizations and sales enablement tools
- Broad enterprise systems exposure (ERP, PLM, QMS, MES, LIMS) and SaaS/vendor management
- PMP, Scrum, or Salesforce certifications

Business Manager Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business manager in California?
The most direct path is a bachelor's degree in business administration, management, finance, or a related field, followed by progressive operations or supervisory experience. California does not require a state-issued license specifically for the business manager title, but roles in regulated industries such as healthcare or financial services may require a California-specific credential from the relevant licensing board. An MBA strengthens candidacy for senior roles at large California employers.
Which companies hire business managers in California?
Employers hiring business managers in California right now include TikTok, JPMorganChase, and Intuit, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. California's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and major hospital systems means consistent year-round demand across both corporate and regional management roles.
Which California cities have the most business manager jobs?
Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego have the most business manager openings in California. Los Angeles and the surrounding metro attract the highest volume because of its entertainment, healthcare, and consumer goods sectors, while San Francisco and San Jose are driven by large technology and financial services employers, and San Diego draws openings from its biotech and defense industries.
Are there remote business manager jobs in California?
Yes, though they are less common than in purely analytical roles because business managers frequently oversee on-site teams and day-to-day operations. About 56% of business manager openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with hybrid arrangements more common than fully remote. Strategic planning, reporting, and vendor management duties are the functions most likely to be performed off-site.
How can I get hired as a business manager in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for operations coordinator, business analyst, or department supervisor roles at large California employers, then building toward a management title internally. Kaiser Permanente, county government agencies, and UC system campuses all run structured management development or associate programs that hire without prior management experience. A project management certificate or familiarity with California employment compliance requirements gives candidates a meaningful edge in initial screening.
Where can I find and apply to business manager jobs in California?
You can find and apply to business manager jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from California employers. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level, industry, and preferred location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
