Logistics Specialist Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a logistics specialist in Texas?
Most logistics specialist roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field, though some employers accept an associate degree combined with relevant experience. Texas has no state-issued license for logistics specialists, but employers strongly favor candidates who hold the APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional or CSCP credential. Completing internships with Texas-based distribution or transportation companies is one of the most effective ways to enter the field.
How much do logistics specialists make in Texas?
Logistics specialists in Texas earn a median of about $75,480 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $45,310 for the lowest 10% to over $123,790 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire logistics specialists in Texas?
Employers hiring logistics specialists in Texas right now include Celestica, UniFirst, and Asbury Automotive, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's combination of major seaports, interstate freight corridors, and large retail and energy headquarters makes it one of the deepest markets in the country for logistics hiring.
Which Texas cities have the most logistics specialist jobs?
Houston, Dallas, and Richardson have the most logistics specialist openings in Texas. Houston leads because of its port activity, energy sector supply chains, and concentration of global distribution companies, while Dallas-Fort Worth draws volume from its central freight position and major corporate headquarters, and San Antonio contributes through its manufacturing base and growing e-commerce fulfillment presence.
Are there remote logistics specialist jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based fields, since many logistics specialist duties involve on-site coordination at warehouses, distribution centers, or freight facilities. About 5% of logistics specialist openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those positions tend to focus on analytics, vendor management, and transportation planning rather than hands-on inventory or fulfillment work.
How can I get hired as a logistics specialist in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for logistics coordinator or supply chain analyst associate roles at large Texas employers such as H-E-B, Amazon fulfillment centers, or major freight carriers operating out of Houston and Dallas. Many of these companies run structured rotational or associate programs designed for recent graduates. Lateral moves from roles like warehouse supervisor, freight broker assistant, or procurement associate are common, and earning the APICS Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution credential gives candidates a concrete edge over other applicants.
Where can I find and apply to logistics specialist jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to logistics specialist jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring in the state right now. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level and specialization, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
