Logistics Specialist Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a logistics specialist in Florida?
Florida does not require a state-issued license to work as a logistics specialist, so the path typically starts with a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or logistics. Employers in Florida's port and freight sectors often look for candidates who have completed an APICS certification such as the CSCP or the CLTD. Gaining experience through internships at Florida distribution centers or freight brokers and building familiarity with customs procedures is the most direct route into the field.
Which companies hire logistics specialists in Florida?
Companies currently hiring logistics specialists in Florida include L3Harris, Astrion, and TireHub, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's major seaports in Miami, Tampa, and Jacksonville generate consistent demand from freight forwarders, third-party logistics providers, and manufacturers with import/export operations in the state.
Which Florida cities have the most logistics specialist jobs?
Jacksonville, Doral, and Miami have the most logistics specialist openings in Florida. Miami leads because of Port Miami and Miami International Airport, which together drive heavy import/export activity, while Jacksonville's deep-water port and distribution infrastructure support a strong freight sector, and Tampa's mix of defense contractors, pharmaceutical companies, and consumer goods distributors rounds out the top markets.
Are there remote logistics specialist jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're rare. About 13% of logistics specialist openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting that most roles involve hands-on coordination of freight, warehouse operations, or port activity that requires an on-site presence. The parts of the role most likely to be performed remotely are procurement analysis, vendor management, and demand planning.
How can I get hired as a logistics specialist in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for logistics coordinator or operations associate roles at large Florida distribution centers, which regularly hire candidates without extensive experience and provide on-the-job training. Employers such as Amazon, Ryder, and PepsiCo operate fulfillment and distribution facilities throughout Central and South Florida that run structured onboarding programs. Candidates moving from adjacent roles such as warehouse associate, freight dispatcher, or customer service representative at a freight company have a clear lateral path, and completing an APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional exam gives an edge in competitive applicant pools.
Where can I find and apply to logistics specialist jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to logistics specialist jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings across freight, distribution, defense, and supply chain sectors. Find roles that fit your experience and location and apply directly to the employer.
