Logistics Specialist Jobs in Minnesota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a logistics specialist in Minnesota?
Most logistics specialist roles in Minnesota require a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field, though some employers accept an associate degree combined with relevant work experience. Minnesota does not require a state-issued license for this role, but professional credentials such as the APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional designation are widely recognized by Minnesota employers and can accelerate hiring. Starting in procurement, warehouse coordination, or freight brokerage is a common entry path.
Which companies hire logistics specialists in Minnesota?
Employers hiring logistics specialists in Minnesota right now include RXO, Meta, and DHL, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Minnesota's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, large healthcare systems, and regional distribution hubs creates consistent year-round demand for logistics professionals across multiple industries.
Which Minnesota cities have the most logistics specialist jobs?
The cities with the most logistics specialist openings in Minnesota are Rosemount, Minneapolis, and Eagan. The Twin Cities metro dominates due to its dense cluster of corporate headquarters, distribution centers, and healthcare institutions, while secondary markets like Rochester and Duluth see openings driven by large anchor employers such as Mayo Clinic and regional freight and port operations, respectively.
Are there remote logistics specialist jobs in Minnesota?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based fields, since logistics specialist work often involves coordinating physical shipments, warehouse operations, or on-site vendor management. About 25% of logistics specialist openings tied to Minnesota are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with remote options most frequently available for roles focused on data analysis, transportation procurement, or customer-facing order management rather than hands-on inventory or dock coordination.
How can I get hired as a logistics specialist in Minnesota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting in a warehouse associate, shipping and receiving, or operations coordinator role with a large Minnesota employer such as Target, C.H. Robinson, or a regional third-party logistics provider, then moving laterally into a specialist position once you have direct exposure to freight systems and inventory processes. Community and technical colleges in the Twin Cities, including Hennepin Technical College, offer supply chain and logistics certificate programs that Minnesota employers recognize. Earning an APICS fundamentals certificate before applying strengthens any entry-level application considerably.
Where can I find and apply to logistics specialist jobs in Minnesota?
You can find and apply to logistics specialist jobs in Minnesota on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the roles that fit your experience level and specialization, then apply directly to the ones that match your background.
