People Operations Manager Jobs in Houston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a people operations manager job in Houston?
The strongest path into a people operations manager role in Houston is through the city's dominant sectors: energy, healthcare systems, and technology. Large employers in the Energy Corridor and Texas Medical Center regularly post people ops roles and tend to value candidates with HRIS experience, employee relations backgrounds, or prior HR generalist work. Tailoring your resume to Houston's compliance-heavy, high-headcount industries gives you a clear edge over generalist applicants.
Which companies hire people operations managers in Houston?
Companies currently hiring people operations managers in Houston include TAS Energy, CEMEX, and Quanta Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Houston's hiring pool draws from a mix of large energy operators, regional health networks, and fast-growing technology firms, many of which maintain dedicated people operations functions at their Houston headquarters or regional offices.
Are there remote people operations manager jobs in Houston?
Yes, though availability varies since people operations work often requires on-site presence for employee relations, onboarding, and compliance tasks. About 16% of people operations manager openings tied to Houston are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those tend to be concentrated in technology companies and corporate roles where policy development and analytics dominate over day-to-day employee interactions.
How can I get a people operations manager job in Houston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Houston is through an HR coordinator or HR generalist role at one of the city's large healthcare systems or energy companies, which regularly hire at the entry level and promote from within. Gaining experience with HRIS platforms and employee onboarding in those environments builds the operational background Houston employers expect. Roles at staffing agencies and professional employer organizations headquartered in Houston also offer fast exposure to multi-client people operations work.
