About the Role
The Regional Director of Human Resources serves as a strategic partner to community leadership and corporate leadership by fostering a positive workplace culture, supporting operational excellence, developing HR talent, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable employment regulations.
This leader will work closely with Administrators, Directors of Nursing, HR Business Partners, and executive leadership to create an exceptional team member experience that aligns with the Touchstone mission, vision, and values.
Travel Expectations
- Weekly travel throughout Texas to support assigned communities
- Expected travel up to 80%, or as directed by the CHRO and/or VP of Operations across the state of Texas
- Must possess the flexibility to support emerging business needs, leadership transitions, and special projects across the organization
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Human Resources Leadership
- Partner with operations leaders to align workforce strategies with business objectives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations, performance management, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness.
- Support succession planning and talent development initiatives across assigned communities.
- Drive accountability and consistency in HR processes and standards.
Team Member Experience & Culture
- Champion the Touchstone Experience and foster a culture centered on service, compassion, respect, and excellence.
- Support team member engagement initiatives that increase retention, morale, and workplace satisfaction.
- Partner with leaders to recognize and celebrate team member achievements.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen organizational culture and improve the employee experience.
Leadership Development
- Mentor and develop HR Business Partners and community leaders.
- Provide coaching on leadership effectiveness, communication, conflict resolution, and performance management.
- Facilitate leadership training and professional development initiatives.
Talent & Workforce Support
- Collaborate with the Director of Talent Acquisition and operational leaders to support recruitment, workforce planning, and retention efforts.
- Support onboarding and integration efforts to ensure new team members experience a welcoming and engaging transition.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Lead complex employee relations matters with professionalism, consistency, and sound judgment.
- Conduct investigations and provide guidance on policy interpretation and employment practices.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Maintain knowledge of healthcare and long-term care regulatory requirements affecting Human Resources operations.
Operational Partnership
- Conduct regular visits to communities to provide hands-on support and leadership presence.
- Support regulatory surveys, leadership transitions, organizational changes, and special projects.
- Utilize data and key performance metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field OR
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience in lieu of degree
Additionally:
- Minimum of eight (8) years of Human Resources experience with increasing leadership responsibility
- Multi-site, regional, or area Human Resources leadership experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, employment law, performance management, and workforce development
- Exceptional communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively throughout Texas
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare, long-term care, post-acute care, or skilled nursing experience strongly preferred
