People Operations Manager Jobs in Missouri: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a people operations manager in Missouri?
Most people operations managers in Missouri start with a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or organizational psychology and then build several years of generalist HR experience. Missouri does not require a state-issued license for this role. Earning a nationally recognized credential such as the SHRM-CP or PHR through the HR Certification Institute strengthens your candidacy significantly and is frequently listed as preferred by Missouri employers in healthcare, financial services, and logistics.
How much do people operations managers make in Missouri?
People operations managers in Missouri earn a median of about $130,680 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $81,730 for the lowest 10% to over $225,160 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire people operations managers in Missouri?
Companies currently hiring people operations managers in Missouri include State of Missouri, University of Missouri, and CRB, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Missouri's concentration of large healthcare networks, regional financial institutions, and distribution operations means demand for this role is spread across multiple industries rather than dominated by a single sector.
Which Missouri cities have the most people operations manager jobs?
Kansas City, St. Louis, and Jefferson City hold the most people operations manager openings in Missouri. Kansas City and St. Louis drive the bulk of listings because of their dense concentrations of corporate headquarters, regional hospital systems, and professional services firms, while Columbia's openings are largely tied to the University of Missouri health system and its affiliated employer network.
Are there remote people operations manager jobs in Missouri?
Yes, and more than most fields, because people operations work is largely desk-based, policy-driven, and executable through digital HR systems. About 50% of people operations manager openings tied to Missouri are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how widely distributed workforces have normalized this arrangement. Functions like HRIS management, benefits administration, and HR policy work are the most frequently offered as fully remote positions.
How can I get hired as a people operations manager in Missouri with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into the role from an adjacent HR coordinator, HR generalist, or recruiting associate position at a mid-to-large Missouri employer. Healthcare systems like BJC HealthCare and SSM Health in St. Louis and Kansas City, along with large logistics operators headquartered in the metro areas, regularly hire HR coordinators and post internal promotion tracks into people operations roles. Earning your SHRM-CP or completing a SHRM student membership while in an entry role signals readiness to move up and is a concrete credential Missouri hiring managers respond to.
Where can I find and apply to people operations manager jobs in Missouri?
You can find and apply to people operations manager jobs in Missouri on Migrate Mate, which lists current Missouri openings updated in real time. Search the listings, find roles that match your experience and location, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
