Vazquez Commercial Contracting, LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to lead commercial electrical bids from initial opportunity review through final submission and project turnover. This position develops accurate, competitive estimates, evaluates project scope and risk, coordinates pricing, and helps the team pursue profitable work.
The Senior Electrical Estimator will work closely with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, project managers, and internal teams to clarify scope, develop proposals, and support a smooth handoff to the project team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical estimates for plan and specification, design-build, design-assist, and conceptual projects
- Review bid opportunities, drawings, specifications, and contract documents to define scope and identify risks
- Prepare detailed takeoffs and evaluate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs
- Solicit and review supplier and subcontractor quotes for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with project scope
- Develop estimates and proposals that are accurate, competitive, and complete
- Identify value engineering opportunities and resolve scope gaps or questions before bid submission
- Coordinate with clients and internal teams to present pricing and finalize bid submissions
- Assign estimating work and mentor junior estimators and project managers
- Participate in bid reviews, site visits, project turnover meetings, and post-project reviews
Qualifications:
- 10 or more years of electrical estimating experience with a record of producing accurate estimates for profitable projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, materials, labor productivity, and cost estimating
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications and manage multiple bid deadlines
- Strong communication and organization skills when working with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and coworkers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, BHS or other estimating software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading design-build, design-assist, and conceptual electrical estimates
- Experience mentoring estimators and identifying value engineering opportunities
