Quality Manager Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality manager in Georgia?
Most quality manager roles in Georgia require a bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical discipline, combined with hands-on quality experience. Georgia does not issue a state license specific to quality management, but employers widely expect candidates to hold American Society for Quality credentials, particularly the Certified Quality Manager or Certified Quality Engineer designation. Candidates entering automotive or aerospace manufacturing should also pursue familiarity with IATF or AS9100 standards.
How much do quality managers make in Georgia?
Quality managers in Georgia earn a median of about $127,820 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $75,720 for the lowest 10% to over $194,480 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire quality managers in Georgia?
Employers hiring quality managers in Georgia right now include Skanska, HYUNDAI MOBIS, and Smurfit Westrock, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Georgia's concentration of automotive assembly, aerospace defense, and consumer goods manufacturing means established industrial and production employers account for a large share of ongoing openings across the state.
Which Georgia cities have the most quality manager jobs?
Atlanta, Alpharetta, and Kennesaw have the most quality manager openings in Georgia. Atlanta dominates due to its sheer size and mix of manufacturing, logistics, and regulated industries, while Savannah's growing port-linked industrial corridor and West Point and LaGrange's automotive manufacturing presence drive strong demand outside the metro core.
Are there remote quality manager jobs in Georgia?
Yes, but they're rare. Quality manager work is largely hands-on, requiring physical presence on production floors, in labs, or at supplier facilities, which limits remote eligibility. About 13% of quality manager openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to cover supplier auditing coordination, documentation management, or quality systems oversight rather than floor-level inspection.
How can I get hired as a quality manager in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a quality technician or quality inspector, roles that large Georgia manufacturers in automotive, food processing, and aerospace regularly post for candidates without management experience. Georgia employers such as Kia Georgia and major Tier 1 automotive suppliers in the metro Atlanta and Columbus corridors hire entry-level quality staff and promote from within. Earning an ASQ Certified Quality Improvement Associate credential early and gaining exposure to ISO documentation processes can accelerate that progression.
Where can I find and apply to quality manager jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to quality manager jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring across the state. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match.
