HR Operations Specialist Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a hr operations specialist in Texas?
Most Texas employers require a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field as the foundation for entering this role. Texas does not issue a state license for hr operations specialists, but earning a nationally recognized credential such as the SHRM-CP or PHR through the HR Certification Institute strengthens a candidate's standing significantly. Many candidates build toward the role through coordinator or generalist positions at Texas-based companies before stepping into a dedicated operations specialist title.
How much do HR operations specialists make in Texas?
HR operations specialists in Texas earn a median of about $136,500 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $83,200 for the lowest 10% to over $226,050 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire hr operations specialists in Texas?

Texas's mix of corporate headquarters, large hospital systems, and energy sector employers means openings appear across a wider range of industries here than in most other states.
Which Texas cities have the most hr operations specialist jobs?

About 0% of hr operations specialist openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the desk-based and systems-driven nature of the work. HRIS administration, benefits processing, and HR data reporting are the sub-areas most frequently offered on a remote or hybrid basis by Texas employers.
How can I get hired as a hr operations specialist in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing an HR coordinator or HR assistant role at a large Texas employer and building toward the specialist title from within. Companies such as large Dallas-Fort Worth corporate headquarters, major Houston hospital systems, and Central Texas tech employers regularly hire early-career HR staff into coordinator programs.
