Our goal is simple: provide an exceptional customer experience while educating our customers on the services and solutions that can make their lives and businesses easier.

We are looking for an Operations Manager who can lead from the front, develop a strong team, maintain high operational standards, and help drive sales and profitability across our stores.

Job Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day performance and operational success of our stores. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can balance customer service, employee management, sales, financial performance, and the physical demands of a busy retail shipping and business-services environment.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, proactive, and confident leading a team. They must be willing to jump in and do the work when needed, including working the sales counter, packing shipments, building crates, assisting customers, and covering staffing needs.

This position supports four nearby store locations, and no two days are necessarily the same. The Operations Manager must be comfortable moving between locations based on the needs of the business, sometimes visiting or working at multiple stores in the same day.

This is a leadership position that requires weekend availability and flexibility outside of normal store hours when operational needs arise.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Development

• Lead, coach, train, and develop employees to improve performance and build a strong, capable team
• Provide ongoing training in shipping, packing, printing, notary services, mailbox services, customer service, and sales
• Develop employees' leadership and supervisory skills and identify opportunities for advancement
• Set clear expectations and hold employees accountable for performance, attendance, customer service, and operational standards
• Conduct regular coaching and performance conversations
• Foster a positive, professional, team-oriented work environment
• Lead by example and be willing to step in and perform any function of the store when necessary

Scheduling & Staffing

• Create and maintain employee schedules across multiple store locations
• Monitor staffing levels and adjust schedules based on business needs, employee availability, and anticipated volume
• Respond to call-outs and unexpected staffing challenges and work with the team to find appropriate coverage
• Be available to work weekends when necessary, including filling in when an employee calls out sick
• Coordinate staffing between the four locations to ensure each store has appropriate coverage
• Anticipate staffing needs and proactively address scheduling gaps
• Maintain accurate schedules and communicate schedule changes clearly to employees

Store Operations

• Oversee daily store operations to ensure each location runs efficiently and profitably
• Maintain high standards for customer service, cleanliness, organization, safety, and store appearance
• Ensure employees follow company policies, procedures, and operational standards
• Identify operational problems and implement practical solutions
• Manage workflow and staffing to ensure stores are properly supported during busy periods
• Ensure all shipments, packages, print orders, mailbox services, notary transactions, and other customer needs are handled accurately and professionally
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels and coordinate supply ordering and replenishment
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash management, banking, and other administrative responsibilities
• Travel between the four nearby store locations as business needs require

Sales & Financial Performance

• Monitor store sales and profitability and identify opportunities for growth
• Review and understand P&L performance, labor costs, sales mix, and other key business metrics
• Coach employees on sales, customer education, and appropriate upselling opportunities
• Identify opportunities to increase revenue through shipping, printing, packaging, mailbox, notary, and business services
• Work with ownership to identify and implement practical strategies that increase sales, improve profitability, and make the stores run more efficiently

Hands-On / Physical Responsibilities

• Be comfortable working in a hands-on shipping and packing environment
• Assist with packing large, heavy, oversized, or unusual items when necessary
• Build wooden crates and other custom packaging when required
• Safely lift, carry, move, and maneuver packages and materials as part of normal store operations
• Assist employees with physically demanding customer shipments and packing projects
• Maintain a safe and organized packing and production area

Requirements

• Proven management or supervisory experience, preferably in retail, shipping, logistics, printing, or a fast-paced customer service environment
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on training, developing, coaching, and holding employees accountable
• Experience creating and managing employee schedules and adjusting coverage as business needs change
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable reviewing sales, labor, and P&L information and using it to improve store performance
• Must have experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, including programs such as Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, and Illustrator, and be comfortable assisting with print production and troubleshooting customer print files
• Must be highly hands-on and mechanically inclined. This is not a desk-only position. You should be comfortable installing cameras and equipment, assembling fixtures, building crates for freight shipments, and handling general store maintenance and setup
• Must be physically capable of lifting, moving, and handling packages and materials as part of normal store operations
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license for supply runs, banking, and traveling between our four nearby store locations. You may work at or visit multiple stores in the same day
• Must be available to work within our operating hours of approximately 7:45 AM–6:30 PM, based on business needs
• Weekend availability is required, including the ability to step in and cover a shift when an employee calls out
• Must be available to respond to occasional operational calls outside of regular store hours when necessary
• Must be flexible and comfortable working in a business where priorities and locations can change from day to day
• Must be willing to jump in and do whatever is needed to keep the stores running smoothly

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who doesn't just manage from behind a desk. This person needs to be a leader who is willing to jump in, solve problems, train employees, help a customer, build a crate, make a supply run, cover a shift, or move between stores when the business needs it.

The right person will take ownership of the operation, develop the people around them, and understand that running four stores requires flexibility, accountability, communication, and a willingness to do whatever is necessary to keep the business moving.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

• We are a retail storefront for UPS and are open 7 days a week. Do you have the availability to work any of the 7 days in a week? **Note- we don't schedule you 7 days in a week but we do require the availability
• Are you able to work between 7:45am & 6:45pm any day of the week?
• This is a multi-location position that requires the candidate to travel between Kenmore, Shoreline and Edmonds (sometimes in a day). Do you have the availability to commute between Kenmore, Shoreline and Edmonds?
• We do a lot of printing at our stores. Do you have experience with Adobe programs such as PhotoShop, Illustrator and InDesign?
• We do freight. Do you have the capabilities to build a wooden crate?
