Operations Manager Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a operations manager in Pennsylvania?
Operations management in Pennsylvania does not require a state-issued license, but employers consistently expect a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or a related field combined with several years of supervisory experience. Many Pennsylvania employers favor candidates who hold a Project Management Professional credential or a Lean Six Sigma certification. Starting in analyst, team lead, or shift supervisor roles at manufacturers, health systems, or distribution centers is the most common path upward.
How much do operations managers make in Pennsylvania?
Operations managers in Pennsylvania earn a median of about $103,130 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $49,990 for the lowest 10% to over $220,530 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire operations managers in Pennsylvania?
Employers hiring operations managers in Pennsylvania right now include CVS Health, Amazon, and Walgreens, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Pennsylvania's mix of large integrated health systems, regional manufacturing firms, and major logistics hubs means consistent openings appear across both the greater Philadelphia corridor and the Pittsburgh metro.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most operations manager jobs?
Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Bethlehem account for the most operations manager openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia leads because of its dense concentration of corporate headquarters, health system campuses, and distribution infrastructure, while Pittsburgh's strength in healthcare, technology, and advanced manufacturing drives consistent demand there, and Allentown anchors the Lehigh Valley's active warehousing and logistics sector.
Are there remote operations manager jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, but they're relatively limited, since operations management typically involves overseeing facilities, staff, and physical workflows that require an on-site presence. About 30% of operations manager openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with most flexibility appearing in roles focused on analytics, vendor coordination, or process documentation rather than direct facility oversight.
How can I get hired as a operations manager in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into an operations coordinator, shift supervisor, or logistics associate role at a Pennsylvania manufacturer, distribution center, or health system, then building toward a manager title. Large Pennsylvania employers like UPMC, Amazon fulfillment centers in the Lehigh Valley, and regional food and beverage manufacturers regularly hire associates into structured training tracks. A Lean Six Sigma White or Yellow Belt certificate makes a candidate measurably stronger when applying without a long management record.
Where can I find and apply to operations manager jobs in Pennsylvania?
You can find and apply to operations manager jobs in Pennsylvania on Migrate Mate, which lists current Pennsylvania openings updated regularly. Find roles that fit your experience level and location, then apply directly to each opening without creating a profile or signing up first.
