ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Production Associate is responsible for performing simple to complex manufacturing assembly and packaging operations using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment with minimal to no supervision.
- Perform intricate assembly operations according to the provided documentation. Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, rivets, adhesives, or other fasteners using a variety of different tools.
- Performs highly diversified work involving considerable adjusting, fitting, and aligning to very close tolerances and strict inspection standards.
- Disassemble and repair parts to correct malfunctions.
- Operate power tools such as drill presses, sanders, and grinders while following strict safety guidelines.
- Refer to drawings and written procedures on all work to be performed with limited verbal instruction required.
- Notify supervisor of missing or defective parts and/or tools or equipment problems.
- Identify product defects and report them to the supervisor.
- Keep work area in clean and orderly condition, complying with established 5S standards.
- Continuously look for ways to improve process flow and eliminate waste.
- Maintain a safe work environment to prevent on-the-job injuries by following and promoting company, OSHA, and EPA rules and regulations, implementing machine safeguards, recognizing and reporting safety hazards, and following all safety procedures and standards.
- Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and three (3) years of mechanical or assembly experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience is preferred. Working knowledge of related manufacturing operations such as machining, stamping, welding, and fabrication is required.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand basic English.
- Ability to demonstrate good mechanical aptitude and proficiency in basic math and trigonometry.
- Ability to communicate and work as a team member.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift.
PHYSICAL DEMAND REQUIREMENTS
Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
