Production Associate Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a production associate in New York?
Most New York employers hire production associates with a high school diploma or equivalent, though roles in pharmaceutical or food manufacturing may require completion of a company-specific training program or a forklift certification. No state-issued license is required for the general role. Candidates who complete OSHA safety training and earn a certificate from a community college or BOCES program in manufacturing technology tend to move through hiring faster with larger New York employers.
Which companies hire production associates in New York?
New York production associate roles are posted by Cintas, J.Crew, and The Salvation Army and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. New York's pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and consumer goods sectors generate some of the steadiest production associate hiring in the state year-round.
Which New York cities have the most production associate jobs?
New York, Rochester, and Buffalo have the most production associate openings in New York. New York City leads because of its scale across food production, media, and consumer goods, while Buffalo and Albany reflect strong pharmaceutical and manufacturing employer bases that have anchored production work in those regions for decades.
Are there remote production associate jobs in New York?
Yes, but they're rare. Production associate work is primarily hands-on and tied to a physical facility, so most roles require on-site presence. About 33% of production associate openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those tend to be quality documentation, production coordination, or scheduling support functions rather than floor-level manufacturing work.
How can I get hired as a production associate in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to temp-to-hire production roles through staffing agencies that partner with New York manufacturers, which allows you to build verifiable floor experience quickly. Large employers like PepsiCo and Pfizer run structured onboarding and entry-level associate programs in their New York facilities. A BOCES manufacturing certificate or a completed OSHA-10 card gives candidates without prior experience a concrete edge when applying to regulated production environments in the state.
Where can I find and apply to production associate jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to production associate jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and location, and apply directly to each position that interests you.
