Data Operations Analyst Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a data operations analyst in Pennsylvania?
Most data operations analyst roles in Pennsylvania require a bachelor's degree in data analytics, information systems, computer science, or a related field. Pennsylvania does not require a state-issued license for this role. Employers in Philadelphia's financial district and Pittsburgh's technology corridor typically expect proficiency in SQL and at least one BI platform. Certifications from vendors such as Microsoft or Tableau strengthen a candidacy and are widely recognized by Pennsylvania employers.
Which companies hire data operations analysts in Pennsylvania?
Employers hiring data operations analysts in Pennsylvania right now include BNY, Comcast, and ValueMomentum, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Pennsylvania's large healthcare networks and financial services institutions, particularly those headquartered in the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh metros, generate the most consistent and diverse openings for this role.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most data operations analyst jobs?
Erie, Philadelphia, and Aston have the most data operations analyst openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia's concentration of financial services firms, insurance carriers, and health systems drives the largest share of postings, while Pittsburgh's growing technology and healthcare sectors anchor demand there, and Harrisburg's state government agencies and affiliated contractors add a steady stream of public-sector openings.
Are there remote data operations analyst jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 67% of data operations analyst openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how desk-based and systems-oriented the role is by nature. The tasks most commonly done remotely include pipeline monitoring, report generation, and data quality audits, while on-site presence is more often required for roles embedded within operations or IT infrastructure teams.
How can I get hired as a data operations analyst in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a data analyst associate or data coordinator role, which large Pennsylvania employers use as a feeder into data operations work. Healthcare systems like UPMC and Penn Medicine run structured new-grad programs that include data and reporting rotations. A portfolio demonstrating SQL queries, a completed ETL project, or a Tableau certification gives candidates without work history a concrete edge and is widely referenced by Philadelphia and Pittsburgh hiring managers.
Where can I find and apply to data operations analyst jobs in Pennsylvania?
