Position Summary:
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving demand forecasts to support accurate supply chain planning and business decision-making. This role collaborates cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to incorporate market intelligence, historical trends, and business insights into a consensus forecast through the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
Key Responsibilities:
Demand Forecasting & Planning:
- Develop and maintain statistical and judgmental demand forecasts at appropriate levels of aggregation (SKU, product family, distribution center, customer, etc.)
- Analyze historical sales trends, seasonality, and market drivers to create baseline forecasts
- Incorporate market intelligence, sales input, and business assumptions into demand plans
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing on new product launches
- Develop and implement demand shaping strategies as needed
- Continuously monitor forecast accuracy, bias, and error metrics and implement improvements
Collaboration & S&OP Process:
- Lead or actively participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) / Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Finance to reconcile demand assumptions and align on forecast consensus
- Lead demand review meetings and communicate forecast changes, assumptions, opportunities and risks
- Provide insights into demand variability and business drivers
Analytics & Performance Management:
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as forecast accuracy, forecast bias, forecast value add and service levels
- Conduct root cause analysis for forecast variances and recommend corrective actions
- Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to monitor demand trends and performance
Inventory & Supply Alignment:
- Collaborate with Supply Planning and Operations teams to ensure alignment between demand plans and supply capabilities
- Support inventory optimization initiatives to balance service levels and working capital targets
- Identify risks and opportunities related to demand fluctuations, stockouts, or overstock
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to enhance demand planning processes, tools, and systems
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including automation and advanced analytics adoption
- Maintain data integrity across systems and ensure master data accuracy
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Focus on Supply Chain, Business, Finance or related field preferred
- 3–8+ years of experience in demand planning, supply chain, or analytics
- Experience in S&OP/IBP processes preferred
- Experience in medical device industry and FDA requirements preferred
Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data modeling)
- Experience with ERP and planning systems (SAP APO/IBP preferred)
