Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Systems, Data, and Assessment, the Systems and Data Operations Analyst helps maintain the data infrastructure and reporting pipelines necessary to assess student engagement, student outcomes, and overall impact of the Wasserman Center. Help manage the department’s core platforms (e.g., Handshake, uConnect), oversee processes to ensure the accuracy and security of user data within platforms, and prepare data for our team to generate actionable insights for cross-functional teams to shape our programs, services, and employer engagement strategies. Participate in the evaluation of new software, support implementation plans, and monitor the landscape of AI and emerging relevant technologies to solve complex problems and keep our digital ecosystem current.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience:
3+ years of relevant experience in systems administration, data management, or educational technology. Experience with file management, and troubleshooting software platforms. Experience partnering with data, software, or IT teams. Ability to ask the right questions and challenge assumptions. University experience preferred.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong command of Excel/Google Sheets and a foundational understanding of relational databases. Rigorous attention to detail and data integrity. Intellectual curiosity regarding the evolving workforce and a strong interest in how emerging technologies impact the recruitment landscape. Ability to think proactively, take initiative, and solve complex problems. Collaborative team player with the ability to manage recurring operational tasks alongside project-based work. Experience with Handshake or other CRM platforms.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau/Tableau Prep). Familiarity with or interest in learning data wrangling tools (e.g., SQL, Python) or automation workflows. Understanding of trends in emerging technology within higher education or human resources.
Additional Information:
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $75,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
