Industrial Maintenance Technician Jobs in Pennsylvania

JOB DESCRIPTION

NCCM is seeking a Licensed Industrial Electrician & Maintenance Technician to support the installation, commissioning, and optimization of manufacturing equipment as we grow our Pittsburgh, PA operations. This role will initially focus on industrial electrical work to support productivity and growth initiatives while collaborating with teams at our Detroit, MI and River Falls, WI locations. Over time, responsibilities will expand to include preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, troubleshooting, and broader facility support. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in both the continued growth of our manufacturing capabilities and the long-term performance and reliability of our operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Initial Focus - Industrial Electrical equipment installation

• Support new equipment installation and relocation, installation, reconnection, testing, and commissioning of CNCs, Hoist systems and other industrial manufacturing equipment at our Pittsburgh location.
• Travel as needed to our Detroit, MI facility to document manufacturing equipment, transformers, and associated electrical systems to support standardization and knowledge transfer across operations.
• Work with 480V threephase systems, transformers, motors, controls, VFDs, disconnects, busway, conduit, machine feeds, and related industrial electrical equipment.
• Trace, troubleshoot and update circuits and equipment connections in an older manufacturing facility where complete electrical drawings may not be available; read and use available schematics, manuals, nameplates, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors, manufacturers, and management; improve labeling and electrical documentation as work is completed and identify work requiring specialized outside support.

Long-Term Focus -Electrical, Maintenance, Reliability & Facilities

• Develop and implement upgrades to machine controls to improve safety, productivity and quality or NCCM products
• Maintain basic preventivemaintenance schedules and service intervals for production machinery and facility equipment; maintain accurate PM and repair records, suggest improvements as needed.
• Provide support to repair production machinery, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Identify recurring equipment issues and determine required parts, repairs, upgrades, or outside technical support.
• Maintain the Pittsburgh, PA facility and identify needed repairs or improvements to electrical systems, piping, conduit, lighting, building components, and other infrastructure.
• Perform appropriate general facility maintenance and coordinate contractors for specialized electrical, plumbing, HVAC, concrete, construction, bathroom, and other improvement projects; support interior/exterior upkeep and grounds maintenance.
• Understand and follow applicable local, State, National and electricalsafety regulations, lockout/tagout, PPE, OSHA and NCCM safety requirements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensed and minimum 5 years of handson industrial electrical or industrial maintenance experience, or equivalent electrical apprenticeship/technical training with substantial industrial experience.
• Demonstrated experience with 480V threephase industrial electrical systems, transformers, motors, motor controls, disconnects, VFDs, and manufacturing equipment.
• Experience disconnecting, reconnecting, installing, or relocating industrial machinery.
• Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting skills and experience using electrical meters and appropriate test equipment.
• Ability to trace and troubleshoot electrical systems where complete drawings may not be available and to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, and technical documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, independent problemsolving ability, and sound judgment regarding when outside technical or contractor support is required.
• Ability and willingness to travel between NCCM locations to support projects; strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Licensed industrial journeyman; experience with CNC equipment, industrial busway, PLC troubleshooting, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, equipment relocation, preventive-maintenance program development, older-facility maintenance, NFPA 70E training, and contractor coordination.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to work in an industrial manufacturing environment; stand and walk for extended periods; bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work overhead; safely use ladders or lifts when trained; work indoors and outdoors; and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
