Field Operations Specialist Jobs in North Carolina: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a field operations specialist in North Carolina?
Most field operations specialist roles in North Carolina require a bachelor's degree in operations management, engineering technology, or a closely related discipline, though significant hands-on field experience can substitute at many employers. North Carolina does not issue a universal state license for the role, but specialists working in regulated sectors such as utilities or environmental services may need credentials through the North Carolina Utilities Commission or the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality before working independently in the field.
Which companies hire field operations specialists in North Carolina?
North Carolina field operations specialist roles are posted by DICK'S Sporting Goods, Vozzcom, and MSX International and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. North Carolina's concentration of energy, defense, and logistics operations means large anchor employers in those sectors account for a substantial share of open positions statewide.
Which North Carolina cities have the most field operations specialist jobs?
Raleigh, Greensboro, and Winston-Salem lead North Carolina for field operations specialist openings. Charlotte's energy and financial operations infrastructure, the Raleigh-Durham area's technology and defense contractor presence, and Fayetteville's proximity to Fort Liberty all generate sustained demand, which explains why those metros dominate even when smaller cities appear in the results.
How can I get hired as a field operations specialist in North Carolina with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a field technician or operations coordinator role at a North Carolina utility, logistics firm, or defense contractor, where hands-on exposure builds the fundamentals employers look for at the specialist level. Duke Energy and Lowe's Companies both run structured rotational and associate programs that place early-career candidates in field-facing roles. Earning an OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification and demonstrating proficiency with field data systems gives candidates a measurable edge when competing against more experienced applicants.
Where can I find and apply to field operations specialist jobs in North Carolina?
