Field Operations Specialist Jobs in New Jersey: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a field operations specialist in New Jersey?
Most field operations specialist roles in New Jersey require at minimum an associate degree in a technical field such as engineering technology, telecommunications, or operations management, though a bachelor's degree is preferred for senior positions. New Jersey does not issue a single statewide license for the role, but many employers require OSHA safety credentials and, depending on the sector, a New Jersey commercial driver's license or utility-specific certifications. Starting as a field technician or operations coordinator is the most common path into specialist-level work.
Which companies hire field operations specialists in New Jersey?
New Jersey field operations specialist roles are posted by DICK'S Sporting Goods, Burlington Stores, and DRW Trading and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. New Jersey's dense concentration of telecommunications carriers, investor-owned utilities, and life sciences manufacturers makes it one of the more consistent states for ongoing field operations hiring throughout the year.
Which New Jersey cities have the most field operations specialist jobs?
Edison, Burlington, and Moorestown have the most field operations specialist openings in New Jersey. Newark drives volume through its telecommunications infrastructure and transit operations, while Edison and Parsippany attract postings from the large pharmaceutical and utility employers whose regional headquarters and service territories are anchored in central New Jersey.
How can I get hired as a field operations specialist in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying as a field technician or operations associate, then moving into a specialist role after demonstrating technical competency. Large New Jersey employers like Verizon and PSE&G run structured technician apprenticeship and new-hire training programs that accept candidates with a technical associate degree and no prior field experience. Earning an OSHA 10 certification and a clean commercial driver's license before applying gives entry-level candidates a clear edge in New Jersey's competitive applicant pool.
