Finance Intern Jobs in Indianapolis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a finance intern job in Indianapolis?
The most direct path is targeting Indianapolis's dense insurance and healthcare finance sectors, where internship pipelines are well-established and companies hire on a recurring basis. Roles concentrate Downtown and along the Keystone Corridor. Candidates with coursework in financial modeling, accounting, or data analysis stand out, and a connection to a local university cooperative program gives you an edge in this market.
Which companies hire finance interns in Indianapolis?
Companies currently hiring finance interns in Indianapolis include Lids, Elanco, and Labcorp, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Indianapolis's employer base skews toward large regional insurers, hospital systems, and mid-size commercial banks, all of which run structured internship programs with defined application cycles.
Are there remote finance intern jobs in Indianapolis?
Yes, though finance intern roles are more limited remotely than purely desk-based positions because many involve on-site team rotations and in-person mentorship. About 60% of finance intern openings tied to Indianapolis are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and the analytical and reporting components of larger corporate roles are the most likely to be offered flexibly.
How can I get a finance intern job in Indianapolis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Indianapolis is applying to part-time or co-op intern roles at regional insurance carriers and community banks, which frequently hire candidates with limited experience if they demonstrate strong quantitative coursework. Entry-level rotational programs at healthcare systems on the north side are another concrete option. Building familiarity with Excel-based financial modeling and reaching out to local finance professionals through IUPUI or Butler alumni networks strengthens your candidacy.
Which industries hire the most finance interns in Indianapolis?
The sectors hiring the most finance interns in Indianapolis are Science & Research and Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Indianapolis's position as a national insurance hub and its large healthcare employer base create consistent intern demand that outpaces most comparable Midwest cities.
