Talent Acquisition Intern Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a talent acquisition intern in Indiana?
The most direct path is enrolling in a Human Resources, Business, or Psychology program at an Indiana university such as Indiana University, Purdue, or Butler, then applying to internship postings during your sophomore or junior year. Indiana does not require a state license to work as a talent acquisition intern. Completing coursework in organizational behavior, employment law, or workforce planning strengthens your candidacy, and pursuing SHRM student membership adds a recognized credential to your resume.
Which companies hire talent acquisition interns in Indiana?
Employers hiring talent acquisition interns in Indiana right now include Cummins, Indiana University Health, and Gaylor Electric, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Indiana's concentration of large healthcare networks, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and corporate headquarters in Indianapolis creates steady intern demand across multiple industries year-round.
Which Indiana cities have the most talent acquisition intern jobs?
The cities with the most talent acquisition intern openings in Indiana are Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, and Warsaw. Indianapolis dominates the distribution because it hosts the state's largest corporate headquarters, healthcare systems, and logistics hubs, while Fort Wayne and South Bend contribute openings through their regional manufacturing operations, university-affiliated medical centers, and mid-size corporate employers with active HR programs.
Are there remote talent acquisition intern jobs in Indiana?
Yes, and more than most entry-level roles, since talent acquisition work is largely desk-based and conducted through digital platforms. About 29% of talent acquisition intern openings tied to Indiana are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the role's reliance on video interviews, ATS platforms, and virtual candidate coordination. Sourcing, scheduling, and employer branding tasks are the functions most commonly performed fully remote.
How can I get hired as a talent acquisition intern in Indiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to structured intern programs run by Indiana's large employers, including Eli Lilly's summer internship cohort, Indiana University Health's HR intern track, and Cummins' campus recruiting pipeline, all of which are designed for candidates without prior professional HR experience. Serving as an HR committee lead or career center volunteer at your Indiana university substitutes for paid experience. A SHRM student membership certificate and a short portfolio showing a mock job posting or sourcing plan gives you a concrete edge in screening.
