Student Success Coordinator Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a student success coordinator in Indiana?
Most Indiana employers require a bachelor's degree in education, counseling, psychology, or a related field, with a master's degree preferred for roles at four-year institutions. Indiana does not require a state-issued license for this role, but candidates who hold a school counselor license from the Indiana Department of Education or a NACADA-recognized advising credential stand out in competitive searches. Direct experience in academic advising, tutoring, or student affairs is the most reliable path to a first coordinator position.
Which companies hire student success coordinators in Indiana?
Employers hiring student success coordinators in Indiana right now include Purdue University, Staff, and Rooted School, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. Indiana's large public university systems and its statewide community college network account for the majority of open coordinator roles throughout the year.
Which Indiana cities have the most student success coordinator jobs?
The cities with the most student success coordinator openings in Indiana are Hammond, Indianapolis, and Plymouth. Indianapolis leads because it is home to IUPUI, Ivy Tech's central campus, and several private colleges, while Bloomington and West Lafayette generate strong demand from Indiana University and Purdue University's flagship campuses respectively, and Fort Wayne supports openings through Purdue Fort Wayne and Ivy Tech regional sites.
How can I get hired as a student success coordinator in Indiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a graduate assistantship or paraprofessional advising role at an Indiana institution while completing a master's in higher education, student affairs, or counseling. Ivy Tech Community College and Indiana University regularly post coordinator assistant and retention specialist roles that welcome candidates without full coordinator experience. Moving laterally from an admissions counselor, academic tutor, or residence life position is another common route, and any NACADA professional development coursework strengthens a thin resume considerably.
Where can I find and apply to student success coordinator jobs in Indiana?
