Job Description:
The Student Success and Enrollment Management (SSEM) Division oversees the Academic Resource Center (Academic Advisors, Success Coaches, Content Tutors, and Writing Specialists), Career Development Office (Internships, Resume Critique), Community Health & Well-Being, Counseling, Housing and Residence Life, and Student Engagement (Orientation, SGA/clubs, leadership, MAC Board, Volunteers, Veteran's).
The Student Success Information and Project Assistant is often the first point of contact for visitors to the office. In this role, you will greet students, faculty, and staff and help direct them to the right resource or staff person who can help them. There are some daily and weekly tasks that need to be completed around campus, like hanging posters, mail runs, and restocking supplies.
This position is supervised by the Executive Associate to the Vice President, who is located in the same office suite. Other members of Student Success may ask for your help in occasional projects.
Students can expect to work 5-10 hours per week, while the office is open.
Office hours are Monday-Friday 9 am-5 pm.
Main duties:
- Greeting students, staff, faculty and families when they walk into the office; directing visitors to the appropriate staff member.
- Maintaining meeting spaces, front desk, and Commuter Cafe
- Picking up and delivering mail from/to the mail room
- Answering the telephone, transferring calls, and taking messages
- Posting and removing flyers around campus
- Assistance with The Shelf, MassArt's food and more Pantry
- Special projects as assigned
Requirements:
This is a student employment position for students enrolled at MassArt. Some previous experience in an office setting or customer service is helpful, but not required.
