Student Success Coordinator Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a student success coordinator in Massachusetts?
Most Massachusetts employers require a bachelor's degree in education, counseling, psychology, or a related field, with a master's preferred for senior roles at four-year institutions. There is no state-issued license specific to this role, but positions within school counseling contexts may favor candidates who hold a Massachusetts School Counselor license issued through the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Community colleges and universities typically prioritize advising experience and familiarity with retention frameworks like Appreciative Advising.
Which companies hire student success coordinators in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts student success coordinator roles are posted by Clark University, Boston University, and Berklee College of Music and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. Massachusetts's high density of higher education institutions and urban school districts makes it one of the more active markets for this role in the Northeast.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most student success coordinator jobs?
Boston, Lynn, and Holyoke have the most student success coordinator openings in Massachusetts. Boston leads because it anchors the state's largest cluster of colleges, universities, and public school districts, while Worcester and Springfield reflect strong community college enrollment and regional university campuses that consistently hire for advising and retention roles.
How can I get hired as a student success coordinator in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a graduate assistantship or practicum in a college advising or student affairs office, which many University of Massachusetts campuses and community colleges offer to master's students. Lateral moves from roles like academic tutor, AmeriCorps VISTA member, or financial aid counselor are common and recognized by Massachusetts hiring managers. Building familiarity with platforms like EAB Navigate and earning a Student Affairs certification through NASPA strengthens a candidacy significantly.
