Trainee Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a trainee in Massachusetts?
The path depends on the field, but most Massachusetts trainee roles require a relevant bachelor's degree or enrollment in one, along with any sector-specific credential the state mandates. Healthcare trainees typically need to meet Massachusetts Board of Registration requirements for their discipline. Finance and insurance trainees often pursue FINRA licensing early in their program. Applying directly to structured trainee programs at large Massachusetts employers is the most direct route.
Which companies hire trainees in Massachusetts?
Companies currently hiring trainees in Massachusetts include Rockland Trust Company, Hertz, and Davey Tree, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Massachusetts's concentration of hospitals, financial institutions, and defense contractors means trainee openings appear year-round across multiple industries in the state.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most trainee jobs?
Boston, Woburn, and Auburn have the most trainee openings in Massachusetts. Boston drives the largest share because it anchors the state's healthcare, finance, and technology industries, while Worcester's medical and manufacturing base generates consistent openings and Springfield draws trainee hiring from regional insurance and logistics employers headquartered in the Pioneer Valley.
Are there remote trainee jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, but they're less common than in fully established roles, since trainee programs often include supervised, hands-on components. About 22% of trainee openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with most of those in financial services, insurance, and technology functions where training can be delivered digitally.
How can I get hired as a trainee in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to named trainee or rotational associate programs at large Massachusetts employers. Mass General Brigham, Fidelity Investments, and Liberty Mutual all run structured programs designed for candidates without prior professional experience. A relevant degree, an internship at a Massachusetts organization, or an industry-recognized certificate gives candidates a clear edge when competing for limited trainee spots.
