Financial Analyst Jobs in Boston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a financial analyst job in Boston?
Focus your search on Boston's Financial District and Seaport, where asset managers, private equity firms, and financial services companies cluster. Healthcare systems and biotech companies in the Longwood Medical Area and Kendall Square corridor also hire analysts regularly. Candidates who combine CFA progress, strong Excel and financial modeling skills, and familiarity with Boston's investment management culture tend to stand out in this market.
Which companies hire financial analysts in Boston?
Employers hiring financial analysts in Boston right now include Augmentis, The Boston Beer Company, and Shawmut Design and Construction, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Boston's hiring base is notably deep in mutual funds, insurance, and healthcare finance, with large regional institutions alongside boutique investment firms scattered across the Financial District and Back Bay.
Are there remote financial analyst jobs in Boston?
Yes, though availability varies by employer type. Financial analyst work is desk-based and analytical, making it more remote-compatible than hands-on roles, but many Boston firms in asset management and banking still prefer in-office presence. About 88% of financial analyst openings tied to Boston are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with corporate FP&A and healthcare finance roles tending to offer the most schedule flexibility.
How can I get a financial analyst job in Boston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Boston is landing a financial analyst associate or junior analyst role at one of the city's many mutual fund companies, regional banks, or large healthcare systems. These employers hire entry-level candidates from Boston-area universities and often promote from within. Rotational finance programs at insurers and healthcare networks are a strong foothold, and an internship in the Financial District or Back Bay carries real weight with local hiring managers.
Which industries hire the most financial analysts in Boston?
Most financial analyst openings in Boston sit in Healthcare & Medical Services, Investment & Asset Management, and Education, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Boston's status as a global hub for mutual funds and investment management, combined with the region's large hospital systems and growing biotech sector, drives consistently high demand for analysts who can work across both financial services and healthcare contexts.
