Financial Consultant Jobs in Houston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a financial consultant job in Houston?
Focus on Houston's dominant hiring sectors: energy companies, wealth management firms, and regional banks concentrated in the Galleria and Energy Corridor. Candidates with experience in oil and gas financial modeling, corporate treasury, or high-net-worth client advisory stand out locally. Networking through Houston's active CFA Society chapter and targeting mid-size independent advisory firms alongside large institutions gives you the widest opening in this market.
Which companies hire financial consultants in Houston?
Employers hiring financial consultants in Houston right now include Texas Capital Bank, Deloitte, and Aramco, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Houston's market includes a mix of global energy majors, regional banks, independent wealth management firms, and Big Four consulting offices all regularly seeking financial consulting talent.
Are there remote financial consultant jobs in Houston?
Yes, though availability depends on the role, client-facing wealth management positions typically require in-person work, while financial planning, analytics, and back-office consulting roles are more remote-friendly. About 14% of financial consultant openings tied to Houston are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with hybrid arrangements most common among corporate finance and planning roles at Houston's larger energy and healthcare employers.
How can I get a financial consultant job in Houston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Houston is through a financial analyst or junior associate role at one of the regional banks, credit unions, or independent advisory firms that routinely hire recent graduates. Houston-area community banks and mid-size RIAs often onboard candidates with a finance or accounting degree and no prior client experience, especially when paired with progress toward a CFP or Series 65. Internships through local firms in the Galleria or downtown financial district are a common bridge.
Which industries hire the most financial consultants in Houston?
Most financial consultant openings in Houston sit in Banking & Financial Services, Education, and Accounting & Auditing, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Houston's position as the global energy capital and a major medical center hub drives concentrated demand from oil and gas companies managing complex capital structures and health systems requiring sophisticated financial planning.
