Financial Consultant Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a financial consultant in Texas?
Most financial consultant roles in Texas require passing FINRA licensing exams, typically the Series 65 for investment adviser representatives or the Series 66 combined with a Series 7 for broker-dealer settings. You register through FINRA and, where applicable, through the Texas State Securities Board. A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics is the standard education baseline, and earning a CFP or CFA credential strengthens your candidacy significantly with Texas employers.
Which companies hire financial consultants in Texas?
Employers hiring financial consultants in Texas right now include Bank of America, First Command Financial Services, and State Farm, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of corporate headquarters, regional bank branches, and independent registered investment adviser firms creates steady demand for financial consultants at all experience levels.
Which Texas cities have the most financial consultant jobs?
Dallas, Austin, and Houston have the most financial consultant openings in Texas. Houston's energy sector and international business activity drive heavy demand for corporate and private wealth consultants, while Dallas's concentration of financial services headquarters and Austin's fast-growing tech and startup economy create consistent openings for both institutional and individual advisory roles.
Are there remote financial consultant jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than many client-facing roles. About 12% of financial consultant openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much planning and advisory work can be done through video and digital platforms. Financial planning, analysis, and portfolio review work translates well to remote settings, while roles focused on new client acquisition or in-person relationship management tend to require an office or field presence.
How can I get hired as a financial consultant in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a paraplanner, financial analyst associate, or client service associate role at a Texas-based registered investment adviser, regional bank, or insurance company. Large Texas employers such as Charles Schwab and Fidelity run structured new-associate programs that train candidates without prior advisory experience. Passing the Series 65 exam before applying makes a strong impression, and completing coursework toward a CFP designation demonstrates commitment that many Texas hiring managers weigh heavily for early-career candidates.
Where can I find and apply to financial consultant jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to financial consultant jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings from employers actively hiring. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your experience and location, and apply directly.
