Finance Associate Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a finance associate in Texas?
Most Texas employers require a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics as the baseline qualification. Texas does not mandate a state license to work as a finance associate, but candidates pursuing CPA licensure must meet Texas State Board of Public Accountancy education requirements, including hours in accounting and business. Those targeting investment advisory roles may need FINRA registration. Earning the CFA credential or passing the Series 63 exam adds a competitive edge in Texas's large corporate and wealth management markets.
Which companies hire finance associates in Texas?
Employers hiring finance associates in Texas right now include JPMorganChase, Raytheon, and Oscar Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Texas's concentration of energy companies, Fortune 500 headquarters, and regional banks generates consistent finance associate demand across industries well beyond financial services alone.
Which Texas cities have the most finance associate jobs?
Houston, Dallas, and Plano have the most finance associate openings in Texas. Houston leads because of its dense concentration of energy sector headquarters, major banks, and professional services firms, while Dallas draws demand from corporate finance centers and regional financial institutions, and Austin's fast-growing tech and venture-backed company base has added a strong layer of FP&A and treasury roles in recent years.
Are there remote finance associate jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than many finance roles, since finance associate work is largely desk-based and analytical. About 67% of finance associate openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the flexibility employers extend to roles focused on modeling, reporting, and data analysis. Financial planning and FP&A positions tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while treasury and audit-support roles are more often on-site.
How can I get hired as a finance associate in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a rotational finance analyst program at one of Texas's large corporate employers. JPMorgan Chase, American Airlines, and ExxonMobil all run structured early-career finance programs in Texas that accept recent graduates. Lateral moves from adjacent roles such as accounting clerk, financial operations specialist, or audit associate at Texas regional banks or credit unions are also a proven route. Building Excel and financial modeling skills and beginning CFA Level I candidacy strengthens an entry-level application considerably.
Where can I find and apply to finance associate jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to finance associate jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from Texas employers across industries. Search the roles available, review the ones that fit your background and target market, and apply directly through the listing. No signup is required to search or view openings.
