Finance Associate Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a finance associate in Massachusetts?
Most finance associate roles in Massachusetts require a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a closely related field. Massachusetts does not mandate a state-issued license for most finance associate positions, but employers in asset management and broker-dealer settings often expect FINRA Series 7 or Series 63 registration, which requires employer sponsorship. Candidates pursuing roles in investment research frequently begin CFA studies while applying to entry and associate-level positions at Boston-area firms.
Which companies hire finance associates in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts finance associate roles are posted by Berkeley Research Group, PwC, and Audax and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Massachusetts's concentration of asset managers, insurance carriers, and regional banks means finance associate demand is distributed across a wide range of institutional employer types.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most finance associate jobs?
Boston, Cambridge, and Hyannis account for the largest share of finance associate openings in Massachusetts. Boston dominates due to its density of asset management firms, financial services headquarters, and major insurance carriers, while Cambridge draws demand from biotech and technology companies with substantial finance teams, and Worcester anchors hiring in its growing regional commercial and healthcare-adjacent finance sectors.
Are there remote finance associate jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, and more than many finance roles. About 67% of finance associate openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based and analytical nature of most finance associate work. Financial modeling, reporting, and portfolio analysis functions are the most commonly offered in remote or hybrid arrangements, while roles requiring regular client contact or on-site trading floor presence tend to remain in-person.
How can I get hired as a finance associate in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through rotational finance programs or analyst development programs at large Massachusetts employers such as Fidelity Investments, State Street, or Liberty Mutual, which recruit new graduates directly from Massachusetts universities. Candidates can also move laterally from accounting, audit, or financial operations roles into finance associate positions. Completing CFA Level I or earning a relevant certification strengthens an application considerably, and internships completed at Boston-area firms often convert to full-time associate offers.
Where can I find and apply to finance associate jobs in Massachusetts?
You can find and apply to finance associate jobs in Massachusetts on Migrate Mate, which lists current Massachusetts openings from employers hiring now. Find roles that fit your experience and location and apply directly through each listing.
