Finance Associate Jobs in New Jersey: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a finance associate in New Jersey?
A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business is the standard starting point for a finance associate in New Jersey. The role does not require a state-issued license in most corporate and investment settings, though pursuing the CFA designation or obtaining a FINRA Series 7 or Series 63 license significantly strengthens candidacy, particularly at the many broker-dealers and investment firms registered with the New Jersey Bureau of Securities.
Which companies hire finance associates in New Jersey?
New Jersey finance associate roles are posted by Campbell's, JPMorganChase, and EY and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New Jersey's deep concentration of financial services firms, pharmaceutical headquarters, and insurance companies means hiring is distributed across both major corporate campuses and regional offices throughout the state.
Which New Jersey cities have the most finance associate jobs?
Jersey City, Camden, and Newark are the cities with the most finance associate openings in New Jersey. Jersey City drives volume through its dense concentration of Wall Street-adjacent banks and asset managers, Newark anchors corporate finance hiring near major insurance and utility headquarters, and Princeton draws roles tied to the pharmaceutical and research-driven companies clustered along the Route 1 corridor.
Are there remote finance associate jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, and more than many fields. About 70% of finance associate openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based, analytical nature of most finance associate work. Financial analysis, reporting, and portfolio support functions are the most commonly offered in remote or hybrid arrangements, while roles requiring hands-on treasury operations or in-person client contact tend to remain on-site.
How can I get hired as a finance associate in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a new-graduate rotational program at one of New Jersey's large financial services or pharmaceutical employers, where firms like Prudential Financial and Merck run structured finance rotations designed for candidates with limited experience. Internships at New Jersey-based asset managers or regional banks, lateral moves from accounts payable or financial operations roles, and an active CFA candidacy or completed Series 65 exam all help a candidate stand out when competing for entry-level associate openings.
Where can I find and apply to finance associate jobs in New Jersey?
You can find and apply to finance associate jobs in New Jersey on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring across the state right now. Search the listings, identify the roles that match your background and location, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
