About the Role
We are seeking a strategic, results driven, hands-on Director of Finance and Admin with strong leadership skills to join our team and support our organization’s financial and administrative operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience as a strategic and hands-on leader with expertise in financial management, budgeting, compliance, and administrative operations. The position is based out of our Ramsey, NJ office, and reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Executive strategic planning and financial leadership
- Oversee Finance, HR, IT, and Administrative functions, policies, and procedures
- Manage day-to-day financial and administrative operations in a hands-on leadership role
- Cash flow oversight, treasury management, and financial forecasting
- Lead budgeting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), and management reporting
- Oversight of cash disbursements, general ledger activity, accounts payable management, account reconciliations, and internal controls
- Manage revenue management processes and oversight
- Oversee manufacturing cost accounting functions
- Direct accrual accounting activities and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Own preparation of financial statements and ensure accuracy and completeness of reporting
- Directly oversee and support month-end close and financial reporting accuracy
- Manage sales tax, use tax, HUT, and IFTA filings and compliance
- Manage financial systems and enforce accounting policies and procedures
- Coordinate and lead internal and external audits and financial reviews with stakeholders
- Manage company insurance policies, bonds, and risk management programs
- Maintain banking relationships and actively manage organizational financial resources
- Negotiate vendor contracts and agreements while maintaining strong corporate relationships
- Identify and implement process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Support executive leadership with financial analysis, operational planning, and strategic recommendations
- Maintain hands-on involvement in accounting operations, compliance activities, and administrative functions
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned
The ideal candidate will have:
- Masters Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or an equivalent field.
- 10+ years of experience in financial leadership and business management required, including at least 3 years at the executive level in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven leadership experience in HR, administration, and accounting.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting, accounts payable, general ledger accounting, revenue management, financial statement preparation, accrual accounting, account reconciliation, and cash flow analysis.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Proficiency in financial software systems, Microsoft Excel, and Google Spreadsheets.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a multinational team effectively.
