Benefits Analyst Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a benefits analyst in Texas?
Most benefits analyst roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field, followed by experience in benefits administration or HR generalist work. Texas does not require a state-issued license for this role, but employers consistently value the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) credential issued by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. Gaining hands-on experience with ERISA compliance, carrier negotiations, and HRIS platforms strengthens a candidate's profile significantly in the Texas market.
How much do benefits analysts make in Texas?
Benefits analysts in Texas earn a median of about $74,800 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $49,570 for the lowest 10% to over $121,790 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire benefits analysts in Texas?
Employers hiring benefits analysts in Texas right now include Alliant Insurance Services, Dallas County, and Lennox, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of major corporate headquarters, hospital systems, and energy companies means demand for benefits professionals is distributed across multiple sectors rather than concentrated in a single industry.
Which Texas cities have the most benefits analyst jobs?
Houston, Dallas, and Richardson have the most benefits analyst openings in Texas. Dallas and Houston lead because of their dense clusters of Fortune 500 headquarters, large hospital networks, and financial services firms, while Austin's rapid tech and government sector growth has expanded its benefits and total rewards hiring considerably in recent years.
Are there remote benefits analyst jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 44% of benefits analyst openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the desk-based and analytical nature of the work. Roles focused on plan administration, compliance reporting, and vendor management tend to be the most remote-friendly, while positions involving onsite employee education or open enrollment support more often require a local presence.
How can I get hired as a benefits analyst in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a benefits coordinator or HR assistant at a large Texas employer, then moving into analyst work after gaining exposure to open enrollment, carrier billing, and leave tracking. Major Texas health systems like Texas Health Resources and Memorial Hermann, as well as large corporate employers in Dallas and Houston, regularly hire for entry-level HR support roles that feed into benefits teams. Completing a CEBS module or an SHRM-CP credential while in an entry role signals commitment and accelerates the move into analyst positions.
Where can I find and apply to benefits analyst jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to benefits analyst jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from Texas employers. Find the roles that fit your experience and apply directly to the ones that match.
