Finance Business Partner Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a finance business partner in Texas?
Most Texas employers hire finance business partners who hold a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics and have several years of FP&A or management accounting experience. There is no state-issued license required to work in the role in Texas, but earning a CPA through the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy or a CMA through the Institute of Management Accountants strengthens your candidacy significantly, particularly at larger organizations in Houston and Dallas.
Which companies hire finance business partners in Texas?
Employers hiring finance business partners in Texas right now include KPMG, JPMorganChase, and Alvarez & Marsal, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of energy majors, regional banks, and large technology campuses means demand is spread across multiple industries rather than one dominant sector.
Which Texas cities have the most finance business partner jobs?
Dallas, Houston, and Austin have the most finance business partner openings in Texas. Houston's density of energy and petrochemical headquarters drives the largest share of postings, while Dallas attracts roles tied to financial services and corporate headquarters relocations, and Austin's fast-growing technology sector has added a meaningful number of commercial finance positions over recent years.
Are there remote finance business partner jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most finance roles. About 20% of finance business partner openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the desk-based and analytical nature of the work. The most commonly remote portions of the role are financial modeling, reporting, and budgeting cycle support, while in-person presence is typically expected for business unit meetings and quarterly planning sessions.
How can I get hired as a finance business partner in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a finance business partner role from a financial analyst or management accountant position within the same company. Large Texas employers such as energy majors in Houston and technology firms in Austin regularly hire junior FP&A analysts as a pipeline into business partnering roles. Pursuing a CMA or enrolling in a CPA program through the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy signals readiness for the strategic scope of the role and gives candidates without direct experience a concrete differentiator.
Where can I find and apply to finance business partner jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to finance business partner jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and location, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
