Financial Consultant Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a financial consultant in Florida?
Most financial consultant roles in Florida require passing FINRA-administered exams, commonly the Series 65 or the combined Series 66 alongside a Series 7, before you can legally offer investment advice for compensation. Florida does not have a separate state licensing board for investment advisers beyond FINRA registration and registration with the Florida Office of Financial Regulation. A bachelor's degree in finance or a related field is the standard educational baseline, and earning a CFP credential strengthens your competitiveness significantly.
Which companies hire financial consultants in Florida?
Employers hiring financial consultants in Florida right now include Truist, TriNet, and Guidehouse, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's large retiree population and concentration of high-net-worth residents make it one of the more active states for wealth management and financial advisory hiring year-round.
Which Florida cities have the most financial consultant jobs?
Tampa, Jacksonville, and Florida have the most financial consultant openings in Florida right now. Miami drives volume through its international wealth management sector and concentration of private banks and family offices, while Tampa is anchored by Raymond James and a growing corporate financial services cluster, and Orlando's expanding professional services economy supports steady advisory hiring across insurance-linked and retail financial planning firms.
Are there remote financial consultant jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most client-facing roles, because much of the analytical and planning work can be done virtually once a client relationship is established. About 63% of financial consultant openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting firms that have adopted flexible models post-pandemic. The roles most likely to be fully remote are financial plan preparation, model portfolio management, and paraplanner support positions rather than new-client business development roles.
How can I get hired as a financial consultant in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a paraplanner or financial planning associate role, which large Florida firms like Raymond James and Ameriprise use to develop candidates before moving them into client-facing advisory work. Completing your Series 65 exam before you apply signals seriousness and removes a hiring barrier. Florida's insurance market also provides an accessible on-ramp: obtaining a Florida 2-15 Health and Life insurance license lets you work in insurance-linked financial planning while you build toward broader advisory credentials.
Where can I find and apply to financial consultant jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to financial consultant jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings from employers hiring now. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience and credentials, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
