Financial Consultant Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a financial consultant in Georgia?
To work as a financial consultant in Georgia, you typically need a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics, followed by passing the FINRA Series 65 exam to become a licensed investment adviser representative in Georgia, which is administered through the Georgia Secretary of State's Securities Division. Many employers also require or prefer the Series 66 in combination with the Series 7. Earning the CFP designation strengthens long-term career prospects in Georgia's competitive Atlanta-area market.
Which companies hire financial consultants in Georgia?
Employers hiring financial consultants in Georgia right now include Mercer, NTT DATA, and Capgemini, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Georgia's large insurance sector, anchored by companies headquartered in or with major operations in Atlanta, creates a particularly steady stream of openings for consultants with both investment and insurance credentials.
Which Georgia cities have the most financial consultant jobs?
Atlanta and Dunwoody have the most financial consultant openings in Georgia. Atlanta's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, regional bank offices, and insurance carriers drives the majority of demand, while Savannah's growing port economy and Augusta's expanding healthcare and military-adjacent financial services sector generate consistent hiring in those markets.
Are there remote financial consultant jobs in Georgia?
Yes, and more than many client-facing roles, since a meaningful portion of financial consulting work involves analysis, planning, and virtual client meetings that translate well to remote settings. About 78% of financial consultant openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting broader industry shifts toward flexible service delivery. Portfolio management, financial planning, and back-office advisory roles are the most commonly offered in remote or hybrid formats.
How can I get hired as a financial consultant in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a financial sales associate or client services associate role at a Georgia-based firm, where you build product knowledge while studying for your Series 65. Large Georgia employers like Fidelity Investments and Truist Financial run structured associate programs that onboard candidates from adjacent roles such as banking teller, insurance agent, or accounting assistant. Passing the Series 65 before applying gives you a measurable edge over candidates who have not yet started the licensing process.
Where can I find and apply to financial consultant jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to financial consultant jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Georgia openings across Atlanta, Savannah, Augusta, and surrounding areas. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level and specialty, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
