Accounting Associate Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a accounting associate in Florida?
Most Florida employers require at least an associate degree in accounting or finance, though a bachelor's degree is increasingly preferred for roles with growth potential. Florida does not require a state license to work as an accounting associate, but candidates who pass the CPA Exam through the Florida Board of Accountancy strengthen their candidacy considerably. Building experience in accounts payable, payroll, or general ledger functions while enrolled in a Florida college or state college system program is the most common entry path.
Which companies hire accounting associates in Florida?
Florida accounting associate roles are posted by BNY, DiMercurio Advisors, and CBIZ and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's concentration of healthcare systems, hospitality groups, and real estate developers means accounting associate demand stays broad across both private companies and public-sector employers throughout the state.
Which Florida cities have the most accounting associate jobs?
Orlando, Lake Mary, and Miami lead Florida for accounting associate openings. Miami's density of international banking, real estate, and logistics firms anchors hiring in the south, Tampa draws strong demand from insurance carriers and corporate headquarters on the Gulf Coast, and Orlando's tourism, hospitality, and healthcare industries keep a consistent pipeline of accounting support roles open year-round.
Are there remote accounting associate jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 71% of accounting associate openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of this work involves software-based data entry, reconciliation, and reporting that travels well off-site. Accounts payable processing and general ledger work tend to have the highest share of remote and hybrid arrangements among accounting associate duties.
How can I get hired as a accounting associate in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for accounts payable clerk or bookkeeping assistant roles at Florida's large healthcare systems, hospitality companies, and property management firms, which regularly bring in candidates straight from Florida state college associate degree programs. AdventHealth, HCA Florida, and regional property management groups run structured onboarding for new-grad finance staff. Completing a QuickBooks certification and gaining exposure to Florida sales tax reporting in a coursework or internship setting gives entry-level candidates a clear edge over unqualified applicants.
Where can I find and apply to accounting associate jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to accounting associate jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings updated regularly. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level, preferred city, and specialty, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
