Accounting Associate Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a accounting associate in Colorado?
Most accounting associate roles in Colorado require at minimum an associate degree in accounting or a related business field, though many employers prefer a bachelor's degree. Colorado does not require a state license for accounting associate positions, but earning a credential such as the NACPB Accounting Certificate or pursuing CPA exam eligibility through the Colorado State Board of Accountancy strengthens your candidacy. Employers in Denver and the Front Range consistently value candidates who combine coursework with practical software experience.
Which companies hire accounting associates in Colorado?
Companies currently hiring accounting associates in Colorado include ghj, Arrow Electronics, and CliftonLarsonAllen, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Colorado's concentration of aerospace, energy, and healthcare employers means accounting associates often find openings tied to large, multi-department organizations with structured finance teams.
Which Colorado cities have the most accounting associate jobs?
Denver, Centennial, and Greenwood Village have the most accounting associate openings in Colorado. Denver dominates because of its density of corporate headquarters, healthcare networks, and government contractors along the Front Range, while Colorado Springs and Boulder generate steady openings through defense industry employers, university systems, and technology firms that each maintain their own internal accounting functions.
Are there remote accounting associate jobs in Colorado?
Yes, and more than many roles, since accounting associate work is largely desk-based and document-driven. About 100% of accounting associate openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly employers in this state have adopted flexible arrangements for finance support staff. Accounts payable processing and general ledger work are the tasks most frequently performed fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a accounting associate in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to accounts payable or accounting clerk roles at large Colorado employers such as UCHealth, Centura Health, or Lockheed Martin, which regularly hire candidates directly out of community college or university programs. Colorado community colleges like Front Range and Red Rocks offer accounting certificates that align with entry-level requirements. Moving laterally from billing specialist or administrative coordinator positions is also common. A QuickBooks certification or demonstrated Excel proficiency gives candidates a clear edge over those with education alone.
Where can I find and apply to accounting associate jobs in Colorado?
You can find and apply to accounting associate jobs in Colorado on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level, preferred city, and work arrangement, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
