Finance And Accounting Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a finance and accounting professional in Florida?
Most finance and accounting roles in Florida require at least a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, and many employer roles above the staff level expect a CPA. The Florida Board of Accountancy oversees CPA licensure in the state, requiring candidates to pass the Uniform CPA Exam, meet Florida's education hour requirements, and complete supervised experience before the license is issued. Financial analyst and corporate finance roles typically do not require a state license but may favor the CFA designation.
Which companies hire finance and accountings in Florida?
Florida finance and accounting roles are posted by Jobot, Broward Health, and Marriott International and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's concentration of corporate headquarters, major healthcare systems, and financial services firms means openings appear consistently across both large enterprises and regional mid-market companies.
Which Florida cities have the most finance and accounting jobs?
Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami Beach lead Florida for finance and accounting openings. Miami's dense concentration of multinational corporations, banking institutions, and private equity firms drives demand there, while Tampa's financial services sector anchored by Raymond James and a growing corporate presence fuels hiring, and Orlando's large healthcare and hospitality employers generate steady accounting and finance needs.
Are there remote finance and accounting jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields, because finance and accounting work is largely desk-based and output-driven. About 50% of finance and accounting openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting strong employer adoption of flexible arrangements. Roles in financial analysis, management accounting, and tax compliance tend to carry the highest remote availability, while positions requiring hands-on audit fieldwork or daily treasury operations are more likely to require an in-office presence.
How can I get hired as a finance and accounting professional in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is an accounts payable, accounts receivable, or bookkeeping role, which large Florida employers such as health systems, hospitality groups, and real estate companies hire for regularly without requiring prior corporate experience. AdventHealth, Darden Restaurants, and major South Florida property management firms run structured internship and new-graduate programs that funnel candidates into full-time accounting positions. Earning an associate's or bachelor's degree from a Florida state university, or passing even the first section of the CPA exam, signals commitment and gives candidates a measurable edge in a competitive applicant pool.
Where can I find and apply to finance and accounting jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to finance and accounting jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings to find roles that fit your experience level and location, then apply directly to the ones that match.
