Financial Services Account Executive Jobs in Maine: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a financial services account executive in Maine?
Most employers in Maine require either a Maine insurance producer license, issued through the Maine Bureau of Insurance after passing a state licensing exam, or a FINRA securities registration such as the Series 6 or 63, depending on the products you'll sell. A bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field is a common baseline. Candidates who hold both an insurance license and a securities registration are the most competitive in Maine's banking and wealth management market.
Which companies hire financial services account executives in Maine?
Employers hiring financial services account executives in Maine right now include Bank of America, MaineHealth, and Husson University, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Maine's financial services sector is anchored by regional banks, insurance carriers, and credit unions that maintain dedicated account executive teams across the state.
Which Maine cities have the most financial services account executive jobs?
Bangor, Portland, and Westbrook have the most financial services account executive openings in Maine. Portland drives the largest share as the state's commercial and financial hub, while Bangor and Augusta attract openings tied to regional bank headquarters, state government-adjacent financial services, and insurance operations that serve central and northern Maine.
Are there remote financial services account executive jobs in Maine?
Yes, and more than many client-facing roles, since much of the work involves phone and video outreach to business clients. About 38% of financial services account executive openings tied to Maine are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting employer flexibility for producers with an established book of business. The parts of the role most likely to be remote are inside sales, renewal management, and national account coverage rather than local business development.
How can I get hired as a financial services account executive in Maine with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a client services associate or financial sales associate at a Maine community bank or regional insurer, then moving into an account executive role after demonstrating results. Bangor Savings Bank and Unum both run structured onboarding programs for new-to-industry hires. Earning a Maine insurance producer license before you apply is the single strongest credential edge, because it removes a common hiring barrier and signals serious intent to any Maine financial services employer.
