Financial Systems Analyst Jobs in Maine: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a financial systems analyst in Maine?
Most financial systems analyst roles in Maine require a bachelor's degree in accounting, information systems, finance, or business administration. Maine does not issue a state license specific to this role, so hiring decisions turn on certifications such as the Certified Public Accountant credential through the Maine Board of Accountancy or vendor credentials like Oracle or SAP. Employers in Augusta and Portland particularly value candidates who combine accounting knowledge with demonstrated ERP platform experience gained through internships or adjacent roles in IT or finance operations.
Which companies hire financial systems analysts in Maine?
Employers hiring financial systems analysts in Maine right now include Bank of America, MaineHealth, and Husson University, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Maine's mix of large healthcare networks, regional banks, insurance carriers, and state government agencies means openings appear across both the private and public sectors throughout the year.
Which Maine cities have the most financial systems analyst jobs?
Bangor, Portland, and Westbrook account for the largest share of financial systems analyst openings in Maine. Portland drives volume as the state's commercial hub, home to regional banks, insurance firms, and the corporate offices of major retailers, while Augusta concentrates state government and healthcare administration roles, and Bangor serves as the anchor for northern Maine's healthcare and financial services employers.
Are there remote financial systems analyst jobs in Maine?
Yes, and more than most fields, because financial systems analyst work centers on software configuration, data analysis, and cross-functional communication rather than on-site physical tasks. About 38% of financial systems analyst openings tied to Maine are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how naturally the role translates to distributed work. System implementation phases and go-live support windows are the portions most likely to require on-site presence, while ongoing configuration and reporting work often stays fully remote.
How can I get hired as a financial systems analyst in Maine with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from an adjacent finance or IT support role into system analyst work at a Maine employer large enough to offer internal transfers. MaineHealth, Hannaford, and the State of Maine periodically post junior ERP analyst, finance systems coordinator, and business systems support positions that accept candidates with one to two years in accounts payable, financial reporting, or IT helpdesk. Completing a vendor-specific credential such as an Oracle Cloud or Workday fundamentals certification before applying gives a meaningful edge, as does any hands-on ERP coursework from the University of Maine system or a Maine community college business technology program.
Where can I find and apply to financial systems analyst jobs in Maine?
You can find and apply to financial systems analyst jobs in Maine on Migrate Mate, which lists current Maine openings updated regularly. Search for roles that match your experience level and specialization, then apply directly to the ones that fit. No profile creation is needed to view or apply to the listings available on the platform.
