Airgas is Hiring for a Field Service Technician in Sparks, NV

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Our Field Service Technician will install and service new and existing Bulk CO2 tanks while upholding high safety standards in accordance with all federal/state/county/local codes and Airgas policies while operating a CDL B truck.
- Stewards the safe and accurate loading/unloading and transporting of CO2 products for servicing. This includes safely managing equipment up to 500 lbs with the assistance of material handling tools like a hand truck, operating battery and electric power tools, navigating 14 ft ladders, and comfortably working overhead regularly. Connects with customers to secure required signatures as needed.
- Comfortable with regional travel 25%-50% of the time within the region, including planned layovers with 1-2 weeks prior notice. To fully support you when travel is expected, Airgas coordinates and covers all hotel accommodations, flights, or car rentals. All ANC trucks are day cabs; there is no expectation for layovers in sleeper cabs.
- Typical shift is Monday-Friday, with openness to a shared on-call rotation on some weekends.
- Contributes to CO2 bulk installations at both Airgas facilities and customer sites.
- Assesses, troubleshoots, and performs general repairs and maintenance on new and existing Bulk CO2 systems.
- Ensures clear communication and safety awareness by placing decals and warning signs for the proper identification of hazards, warnings, ownership, normal operational settings, emergency contacts, etc.
- Organizes and ensures a reliable inventory of recommended parts necessary to support typical installations operated by the hub.
ARE YOU A MATCH?
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Class A CDL or B CDL with HAZMAT (or able to obtain hazmat within 60 days of hire date) Tanker, & Airbrake endorsement
- Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or be able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months.
- Maintain appropriate driver's license, medical card & endorsements
- No more than two (2) traffic convictions: OR two (2) at-fault accident in the last 3 years; or no more than a combination of one (1) traffic conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last 3 years
- No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven (7) years
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to read blueprints and design specifications, manufacturer drawings, architectural drawings related to bulk delivery sites associated with customer installations.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Have a basic understanding of hand tools and how they are used
- Ability to read blueprints and knowledge of any specialty gas is a plus.
- Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
COMPENSATION
- Pay: $28-$31/Hr. Depending on Experience
