Mid Level Functional Analyst Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level functional analyst job?
Position yourself around ownership, not just contribution. Highlight projects where you led requirements gathering, managed stakeholder relationships, or delivered a solution from discovery through implementation. Applications that show you made judgment calls, resolved ambiguity, and produced measurable outcomes stand out at this level. Tailor your resume to reflect the specific domain, whether ERP, CRM, or business process, that the role covers.
Which companies hire mid level functional analysts?
Companies hiring mid level functional analysts right now include Targa Resources, Accenture Federal Services, and ABB, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a mix of large enterprises running complex system implementations and mid-size organizations building out their business analysis function.
Are there remote mid level functional analyst jobs?
Yes, and a significant share of openings offer location flexibility. About 56% of mid level functional analyst openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how much of the work, requirements documentation, stakeholder interviews, and system testing, translates well to distributed collaboration. On-site roles tend to appear where analysts are embedded directly with operations or implementation teams.
How do I move up to a mid level functional analyst role?
The move from entry level to mid level comes from accumulating ownership, not just hours. Build depth in a specific domain like ERP configuration, data workflows, or product operations. Seek out projects where you write requirements, not just gather them, and where you present findings to stakeholders directly. Demonstrating that you can manage a deliverable from kickoff through sign-off, with measurable results, is what signals readiness for mid level responsibility.
Which industries hire the most mid level functional analysts?
Mid Level functional analyst roles concentrate in Energy, Chemicals & Materials, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive demand because they rely on complex systems, ongoing process improvement, and the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements across large, cross-functional teams.
