Mid Level General Superintendent Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level general superintendent job?
Position yourself around ownership, not just task completion. Highlight projects where you managed subcontractor schedules, resolved field conflicts, and kept work on budget without constant supervision. Employers at this level want to see experience coordinating multiple trades simultaneously and a history of delivering scopes on time. Tailor your resume to show decision-making authority, not just job duties.
Which companies hire mid level general superintendents?
Companies hiring mid level general superintendents right now include IES Communications, IES HOLDINGS, and Gaylor Electric, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a mix of regional general contractors, national construction firms, and owners who self-perform large commercial or infrastructure projects.
Are there remote mid level general superintendent jobs?
Yes, though the role is predominantly site-based by nature. About 0% of mid level general superintendent openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, typically covering pre-construction planning, subcontractor coordination, and project reporting functions rather than full field supervision roles.
How do I move up to a mid level general superintendent role?
The path runs through accumulating direct field ownership over several years. Start by taking on full scope for smaller self-perform packages, then progress to overseeing subcontractors across trades on mid-size projects. Demonstrating measurable outcomes, such as improved schedule adherence or reduced rework, signals you are ready to operate with the autonomy that mid level roles require.
Which industries hire the most mid level general superintendents?
