- Coordinate pilot programs with business stakeholders and early adopters, define success criteria, track outcomes, and inform post-pilot enterprise decisions.
- Develop repeatable playbooks, workflow guidance, and supporting materials that help translate successful AI use cases into scalable enablement across teams and functions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to synthesize usage, adoption, and feedback data into clear insights, recommendations, and program updates for leadership.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing clear, concise deliverables and work effectively across business and technology teams.
- Highly structured, detail-oriented, and proactive, with the experience operating effectively in a fast-moving environment and influence without direct authority.
- Familiarity with enterprise AI tools and data platforms, including Power Platform and Copilot Studio is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

Frame your AI credentials for PERM documentation
PERM requires your employer to advertise the role and document that your qualifications are genuinely required. Compile evidence that your AI program management experience, not general project management, is essential to the position before the process begins.
Distinguish EB-2 from EB-3 before applying
EB-2 requires an advanced degree or equivalent and opens faster priority dates for most countries. If your credentials are primarily a bachelor's plus experience, EB-3 may be your realistic path, and your job search strategy should reflect that difference.
Target employers with active PERM filing histories
Use Migrate Mate to filter AI Program Manager roles by employers who have filed PERM labor certifications before. Prior PERM activity signals that an employer understands the process and has legal infrastructure in place to sponsor you.
Verify the role title matches DOL occupation definitions
DOL sets prevailing wages by job title and location using O*NET codes. If your employer lists you as a generic Program Manager rather than an AI-specific title, the wage tier may not reflect your level. Confirm the SOC code maps to your actual duties before your employer submits the LCA.
Request the PERM timeline in writing during offer negotiation
Some employers start PERM in year one of your employment; others wait. Ask directly whether the company has a policy on green card initiation and get the expected start date documented in your offer letter or employment agreement.
Check your prevailing wage tier using the OFLC Wage Search
PERM locks your employer into paying at least the DOL prevailing wage for your location and job title. Run the OFLC Wage Search yourself before signing an offer so you know whether the proposed salary meets the minimum required for your sponsorship to proceed.
Green Card AI Program Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an AI Program Manager role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most AI Program Manager positions qualify for either classification. EB-2 applies if the role genuinely requires a master's degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, or a related field, and your credentials match. EB-3 covers roles where a bachelor's degree plus experience is the standard requirement. Your employer's PERM job description determines which category applies, so the language in that filing matters significantly.
How is PERM green card sponsorship different from H-1B for this role?
H-1B visa is a temporary nonimmigrant status, capped annually, and subject to a lottery for most applicants. PERM-based green card sponsorship, by contrast, leads to permanent residency with no lottery. The trade-off is time: the PERM labor certification process alone takes six to eighteen months before USCIS even reviews your I-140 petition. For AI Program Managers from most countries outside India and China, EB-3 priority dates are current, which can make the total timeline comparable to multiple H-1B visa cycles.
Which types of employers typically sponsor green cards for AI Program Managers?
Large technology companies, enterprise software firms, financial institutions with AI divisions, and healthcare systems with data infrastructure teams are the most active PERM sponsors for this role. Staffing agencies and consulting firms occasionally sponsor, but direct-hire positions are more likely to include green card support. Searching for roles with documented PERM filing histories, rather than roles that only mention sponsorship as a possibility, significantly narrows your list to employers who actually follow through.
How can I find AI Program Manager jobs where the employer will sponsor a green card?
Migrate Mate lets you filter AI Program Manager job listings specifically by employers with PERM labor certification history, so you're not applying to companies that mention sponsorship in their postings but rarely execute on it. Focusing your search on employers with a verified track record of green card filings saves significant time in a process where employer commitment is as important as your own qualifications.
Can I switch employers after my PERM is filed but before I get my green card?
Changing employers after PERM is filed but before your I-140 is approved generally requires restarting the PERM process with the new employer. If your I-140 is already approved and your priority date is current or close, portability rules under AC21 may allow you to transfer the approved petition to a new employer in a same or similar occupation. AI Program Manager roles have enough occupational overlap with adjacent titles that portability is often viable, but the new role's duties must align with the original PERM job description.
